$14 Million Rolls-Royce on Offer in Museum Sale Could Be World's Most Expensive Car

Back in May we reported that a 1957 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa had sold at auction for $12 million, setting a new world record and becoming the de facto most expensive car in the world. Now that record is quite possibly about to be shattered by a bespoke, one-of-a-kind 1934 Rolls-Royce Phantom II 40/50 HP Continental "All-Weather Convertible" custom made for an Indian Maharaja. The incredible car (above), known as the "Star of India", is being sold off by famed Rolls-Royce collector Hans-Günther Zach, who's liquidating his private museum dedicated to the marque in Germany. It's expected to fetch as much as €10 million or $14 million, beating the Ferrari by a wide margin. The Star is just one of classic and collectible 24 Rolls-Royces Zach is accepting bids for until Sept. 15th.

UNIQUE AND OLDER CARS ARE JUST ANOTHER ART FORM-THAT IS WHY COLLECTORS PAY A FORTUNE FOR THEM -JUST LIKE A FINE PAINTING--- .
AND WE ARE NOT TALKING ABOUT A PIECE OWNED BY THE NEW URBAN MUSIC, PSEUDO MUSICIAN GANGS.

All of you thinking it is ugly, not worth it, whatever, what is the Mona Lisa worth? Any work of art? A painting by da Vinci or Michangelo or any of the masters for that matter, what is their material worth, yet you people don't blink an eye when someone buys one of these! As far as people having to much money, you or I do not have a clue as to how they earned it or their parents or parents, parents earned it, if they didn't steal it, it belongs to them to do with as they choose, so blame your life on you and/or your ancestors.

Many rare cars, and many newer boats and planes would be far more expensive. See, for example, the Ferrari 250GTO and the ultimate car, the Bugatti Royale. And "Maltese Falcon" just sold for 100 units or so.

This is not as pretty as the Silver Cloud, but the reason to buy this car is that Rolls never wear out. It coud be the last car you ever need. So you save in the long run.
On the other hand Bentley is all about prententiousness/requiress a full time English mechanic with all their problems( tea-breaks, crumpets, etc).
So you have Puff-didy/Obama in the Bentley, and Ted Kennedy in the Rolls.
Happy bidding, Keep the tires rotated/inflated weekly. Have James check the oil each morning...

NOT! 1906 Rolls-Royce sold in 1998 in Los Angeles California for 56 Million dollars. Only 7 of these left in the world!

Design a better mouse trap, get wealthy, and then give it all away to the poor and lazy. Until then, dream about Utopia on Earth and admire the very nice Rolls.
