Yin Yang Wading Pool Lavatory

I think bathrooms lend themselves to a sense of peace naturally, if only because of the flowing water and solitude, but this Yin Yang Wading Pool Lavatory from Kohler takes inspiration from seashells and the Chinese symbol for harmony to enhance that feeling even further. It's extremely simple, with a shallow basin that has a slightly raised center to encourage unique water patterns as it flows towards the offset drain. It's all designed to inspire elegance and a sense of balance, which I think it does very well.

Ying Yang Vases

A good vase is hard to find, so getting two is even better. Celebrating good floral displays and the "dualistic nature...in our universe," the Ying Yang Vases are definitely unusual as far as vases go. Each is handmade, with a sculpted, curving cavity in black or white that has bee sunk into a frame of clear glass. Each can be use separately, but the pair fit neatly together. When viewed from the front, the outlines of the color areas for an elongated oval "adding harmony to any room." Price: $320.
