I feel some sense of horological responsibility to share with the entire planet those watches which I love. Among the list of "I need one before I die" timepiece is one of these Xemex
Piccadilly Big Date watches. The Piccadilly comes in a variety of styles, but the Big Date is my favorite. There is also a non-big date and chronograph version. Maybe a few others... From Xemex, the beautiful Swiss watch brand designed by Ruedi Kulling, the Piccadilly is of the more formal pieces in the brand's collection - and you can see why. The incredible design is simple, eye-catching, functional, and attractive. The case is 40mm wide in steel, with separate screwed-on structures for the lugs. Here, the onyx black style dial has applied metal hour indicators in a style that feels like a mix between Bell & Ross and Panerai (though these aviator style numerals have been used for years). The delicate skeletonized hands give the watch a formal, as opposed to sport look, and the red seconds hand adds a beautiful splash of color.
This is just a great designer watch with enough uniqueness to make it really stand out. Inside the watch is a Swiss ETA 2896 automatic movement that has a big date complication. This means that the date is shown larger because it uses two discs. Strap is black , soft leather. Only this missing in a watch like this is lume. Overall a solid timepiece, and of course in my opinion it is beautiful to boot. Price is a hair under $2,400.
