WNBA Star Creates Shoes For Big-Footed Women
WNBA player Asjha Jones of the Connecticut Sun, is best known for her fancy footwork on the court but she's taking on the world of fashion with a new shoe line. Like many other tall women (she's 6'3") she has big feet and has had trouble finding shoes in her size. She's taken on the cause of the large footed with Takera shoes. The name of the line comes from Jones' middle name. Jones herself wears a size 13 shoe. In an article in the Norwich Bulletin earlier this month Jones said that now that she is turning 30 she was looking for what will be her next career after basketball. She and other tall players have often struggled to find clothes and shoes that fit them and so this seemed a natural next move.
The shoe line has been a couple of years in the making and is now ready for pre-order. The shoes are for women who wear shoe sizes 10.5 to 15.0 and include strappy heels, pumps and sneakers in a variety of colors and styles. The shoes will be available in January online and will eventually sold in retail stores.
