Daniel Pohl Wood Buffet

Artist Daniel Pohl designs furniture to "create a rhythm for the eye." Using traditional paints made of powdered pigments, corn syrup, and vinegar, his hand-carved furniture designs are vibrant works of art. Constructed from pine and poplar found near his home in central Wisconsin, Pohl creates each piece using using traditional cabinetry techniques, with mortise and tenon joints and dove-tailed drawers. Each is unique and built to order. $12,800.

Mirgab V Yacht To Launch With Fireworks

Burger Boat Company in Manitowoc, Wisconsin is set to launch the much-awaited Mirgab V yacht this Saturday. They have invited the public to the 10 a.m. launch and the new owners of Mirgab V the Alshaya family of Kuwait are holding a fireworks display in the evening to celebrate. The 144-foot tri-deck yacht  is the largest motor yacht in Burger's history. The yacht will summer in the Mediterranean on the French Riviera and also can be seen at the Monaco Yacht Show in September. The yacht cost over $20 million and includes 12 staterooms (seven for guests and five for crew), a glass circular elevator and a swim platform that converts to a stairway to the sea.

Will Sheboygan Be The Home Of A New Space Port?

We've done plenty of talking about New Mexico's spaceport plans but is there anywhere else in the United States that has space plans? The town of Sheboygan, Wisconsin of all places, has their own idea to create a Midwest space research center and launchpad. The idea includes converting a World War II armory into a space research facility. The hope is to cash in on the space tourism market. Sheboygan has been firing small rockets into the atmosphere as part of the Rockets for Schools program and offers a place of restricted airspace over Lake Michigan for rocket and jet-plane space launches. The FAA has given Sheboygan authorization for suborbital flights. All they need is the cash and the Wisconsin State Legislature is considering creating a state aerospace authority which would be  The Wisconsin state legislature is considering a measure to create a state aerospace authority, which could sell up to $100 million in bonds to purchase land and build a launch facility.
