Home decor items like clocks aren't easy to give as gifts, but if you know just the person (or maybe are looking to upgrade your own home's look before the hordes of family arrive) you might find yourself in the market. If there's one thing I always go for it's delicate sparkling lights in bunches -- half the reason I like Christmas so much is because of Christmas lights suddenly being everywhere I look. So obviously I'm loving these Contemporary Suspension Lights from Kundalini. Individually each orb is nothing special really, but in a group they have a truly unique and beautiful impact. Wobble Cognac Glasses

Say the word "whimsy" and you've got my attention -- I love anything fun and slightly wacky, but not necessarily ridiculously over the top. These Wobble Cognac Glasses are great, I think, because they look interesting without sacrificing any class. They were designed with bouquet, temperature, and volume in mind, and the delicate shape is said to enhance the pleasure, deep color, and movement of the drink (and also the glass to some extent, obviously). Made of hand-blown glass and available in sets of two for $50.

The Modern Pinwheel

I'm a sucker for accent pieces that find a way to blend the whimsical energy of happy childhood memories with a dose of maturity for the adult I am today. These stainless steel pinwheels from Chiasso take the breezy fun from days past and mix it with a healthy dose of class and durability by creating them of lightweight stainless steel. I think they'd make a fun summertime addition indoors or out, and considering the average plastic pinwheel goes for $2 or less, these are actually a little pricey at $15 each.

Dust Furniture

The Dust Furniture collection is a functional one, but very heavy on whimsy. Although it looks as though the birch furniture might belong in Disney's Toontown or a Dr. Seuss book, all the pieces in the American-made collection are works of art. Their curving lines make each piece come alive and the colors, which are done in artist-grade acrylics with distressed finishes and sealed with urethane, will bring a smile to anyone's face. They would be fantastic for a child's bedroom, or the bedroom or office of someone who is still a child at heart. We can't make up our minds about a favorite piece, but the Curvaceous Cabinet ($820) would make a fantastic bedside table.
