Checking Out The W Hollywood Residences

There's no denying that the eastern swath of Hollywood Blvd. in Hollywood, California has seen better days which means it's primed for a renaissance. The new $350 million W Hollywood Hotel & Residences project seems to be leading the way. The W Hollywood is plopped right onto a W Metro station giving a very New York urban feel to a project that is pure Southern California glitz on on the inside. We had the opportunity to check out the residences last week and snapped plenty of pictures of a glimpse at the new Hollywood.

Charity Wine Dinner Offers Wine At Hollywood And Vine

If you are interested in checking out the new W Hotel at Hollywood and Vine in Hollywood, California a fine opportunity presents itself with the Eighth Annual Wine Aficionado Dinner benefiting the Bogart Pediatric Cancer Research Program. The event will take place on Thursday, May 13th. Tickets for this year's dinner "Hollywood and Wine: The Biggest Stars in Wine Today" are $1,250 per person or $10,000 per table of ten. Attendees also have the opportunity to be among the first to stay at the W Hollywood at a special rate of $259 on the night of the dinner.

This year's dinner will showcase some of the world's finest wines paired with a four-course dinner prepared by Innovative Dining Group. Several of LA's top sommeliers to oversee the dinner's wine service. The evening will conclude with a live auction featuring one-of-a-kind lots like a walk down the red carpet at a Hollywood premiere in a Randolph Duke couture gown; dinner with comedians Cheech and Chong; a progressive dinner for four couples in Los Angeles' top elite homes; a private movie screening; and a lot of 100-point Robert Parker rated wines from around the world.

The Bogart Pediatric Cancer Research Program supports the Bogart Labs at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. Named in memory of Neil Bogart, the late record and film executive who died of lymphoma at the age of 39, The Bogart Pediatric Cancer Research Program was founded in 1984. This January Bogart awarded a five-year $4.7 million grant to support the Childrens Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases (CCCBD) and the creation of the Bogart Leukemia Research Program at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles.

W Residences Hollywood Announces New Nightclub

It's still months away but Gatehouse Capital and HEI Hotels & Resorts, co-owners of the W Hollywood Hotel & Residences have announced a deal with nightclub impresario Victor Drai to open a new multi-level signature nightlife venue, Drai's Hollywood within W Hollywood Hotel & Residences in December 2009. The residences are located at the corner of Hollywood & Vine and the nightclub will span more than 20,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space. The club will include a ground-floor lounge as well as a rooftop nightclub with views of Hollywood, and an open-air rooftop pool bar. The nightclub will compliment a 6,000-square-foot restaurant fronting Hollywood Boulevard. The restaurant, Delphine, will strive for a south-of-France feel. The complex will feature 143 W Residences many with private terraces, offering views of the Hollywood Hills, Hollywood Boulevard, the Pantages Theater, Capitol Records building and the Hollywood sign. Residence owners will have access to all facilities and amenities at W Hollywood including private in-home catering, maid service, room service and more.
