Edge Wood, Estate of the Day

I wondered back in 2006, when I first saw today's estate listed, if it was a bit overpriced. It turns out I may have been right, it has gone through a major price reduction since then. Luxist reader Ryan reminded me of Edge Wood in Virginia Beach, Virginia. It is a large six bedroom home which was built in 2002 and sits on the waterfront. It has two docks, three boat lifts and a sandy beach. The compound is over three acres and has more than 21,000 total square feet of space including a large guest house. The home includes details such as a billiards room with a bar, a large art studio and a master suite with a wet bar. It is listed at $16 million, which is less than two-thirds the price it was two years ago when it was listed at $24.5 million.

I thought the last house I covered in Virginia Beach, Virginia was the most expensive in the area but this listing has it beat by nearly double. This large eight bedroom home was built in 2002 and sits on the waterfront. It has two docks, boat lifts and a sandy beach. It sits on over three acres and has more than 21,000 total square feet of space. The heated swimming pool also has a cabana with a summer kitchen. The front of the house features a large gate and a stone pond with a fountain. The guest house area also includes extensive garages. The virtual tour reveals more details such as the billiards room with a bar and a large art studio. It is listed at $24.5 million. After the jump, for this price they should throw in the cars.

Traditional in Virginia, Estate of the Day

This Georgian manor house in Virginia Beach, Virginia sits at the end of a private road and is surrounded by Lake Lawson. The traditional home was originally built in the late 1940s and is a sprawling home that expands over 19,000 square feet with 11 bedrooms, large formal living and dining rooms and a huge master suite with a fireplace. Other details include a library ,wine cellar, billiard room, and a gourmet kitchen. The "carriage house: is a separate home with a full bar, large sitting area, commercial ice machine and one bedroom. One fabulous detail we don't often see in many houses is a large outdoor chess set. It is listed at $12.5 million. After the jump, England goes south.
