Mark Teixeira Remodels In Texas, Estate of the Day
Filed under: Estates, Celebrity Shopping, Sports

Today's estate is one we've seen before but I can't resist a good before and after story. The first time we saw the Texas home belonging to Yankees baseball player Mark Teixeira was in 2008. Back then the home in the gated Vaquero community was listed at $5.75 million and the first baseman was playing for the Braves. Flash forward to now, he's a Yankee and the home has had a bit of a renovation and is back on the market. Nothing major appears to have been done, a few color changes, an overall sprucing up, some much-needed lawncare, better listing pictures and voila, a much more appealing home.
The Vaquero development offers residents a Tom Fazio golf course, swim center, fishing ponds a fitness center and a clubhouse. The house itself has four bedrooms and is nearly 7,000 square feet. Teixeira and his wife purchased the home in 2005 for $3.99 million. The home has a nice negative-edge pool with a nice outdoor entertaining area. The master suite has a gas fireplace and a large patio with an infinity-pool style hot tub. One of the nicest features is that the home theater opens directly out to the patio which has a fireplace, seating area and bar. The home is now listed for $4.55 million.
