Vintage Bentley Sells for $1 Million at Brooklands Auction
Filed under: Luxury Cars & Autos, Auctions

Think Bentleys have big engines nowadays? then you should see some of the monsters they used to make back in their heyday. Like this, the 4½ Litre.
Now the 4.5-liter displacement by itself may pale in comparison to some Crewe's engines now, like the 6.75-liter V8 and the 6-liter W12. But the 4½ Litre had only four cylinders. And since its construction in 1931, this particular example traveled the world, held by owners in England, the United States, South Africa, Kenya and Japan. Now it's been sold in the inaugural auction by Historics at Brooklands for an impressive £670,500, equivalent to nearly $1 million USD.
