The American Egg
San Francisco jewelry store Van Craeynest has come up with a work of art to give Fabergé a run for their money. Jeweler Stanislav Kaufman created a Fabergé-inspired precious egg, called The American Egg. The elaborate egg is fashioned of nearly 20 ounces of platinum and yellow gold and 3,000 diamonds and rubies. Kaufman worked on the egg for 12 years and the intricate design is a highly polished and shaped design. The egg is for sale for $2 million. According to JCK News an ad for the egg in a San Francisco lifestyle magazine didn't attract a buyer.
