Vacheron Constantin Explorer Series Watches

Vacheron Constantin has revealed the latest in their Explorer series of watches. The two new models celebrate Marco Polo and Christopher Columbus (previous models were devoted to the Chinese admiral Zheng Hé and Magellan). The enamelled dial is made of two parts that partially overlap. The top part features a map of the explorer's journeys and the bottom part shows twelve hour numerals traversing a 132° minute scale on the lower part of the dial. The case is 18K gold and measures 40mm and the movement is the automatic Vacheron in-house caliber 1126AT, with 36 jewels, beating at 28,800 bph and with a power reserve of 40 hours. There are 60 watches of each explorer.

Vacheron Constantin Kaila Lune Watch

The Kalla Lune is the latest haute jewelry line of watches from Vacheron Constantin. The Kalia Lune Large model has 816 baguette-cut diamonds, 23 brilliant-cut diamonds and one rose-cut diamond for the crown for a total weight of 42.61 carats. The stones are hand-cut and hand-set to work perfectly with the case. The 18K white gold and diamond bracelet is set with baguette cut diamonds set so that they seem to flow across the wrist. The watch is available in either a 41mm or 36mm case size. The watches uses the manual-wind Vacheron caliber 1410 with Geneva Hallmark movement which has 22 jewels, beating at 28,800 bph and with a power reserve of 40 hours. The watches feature a moonphase indicator.

New Vacheron Constantin Watches

Today we are taking a look at some of the gorgeous new watches from Vacheron Constantin. Whether you like complex watches with intricate mechanisms, the retro fantastic or watches that are simply artistic, they have created something for every type of watch lover.

The Masque watches are part of a collection that will span three years with twelve masks, 25 pieces of each. Each timepiece is uses the automatic Calibre 2460G4 movement. The time is read without any hands: by means of four discs that indicate the hours, minutes, days and date in windows, leaving the center of the dial free for the masks. The use of specially-treated glass creates the impression that the masks are floating. Each sapphire crystal has a different tint to show off the color of the mask. The 40mm case is fashioned in white gold for the Alaskan mask, pink gold for the Indonesian mask, yellow gold for the Chinese mask, and platinum for the Congolese mask. There are 25 boxes, each with the four watches representing four different continents (The Americas, Asia, Africa and Oceania), for a total of 100 individual pieces.

Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Bi-Retrograde

The other day, a fellow blogger and I had a chat about the new Urwerk. He says yuck, I say yum. One thing we can probably both agree on is the beauty of this delightful piece from Vacheron Constantin. This watch is known as the Contemporary Patrimony Bi-Retrograde Day Date. It has a 42.5 mm 18K rose gold case and has baton hands, four polished 18kt gold triangular hour markers shaped at 3, 6, 9 and 12 o'clock, and a minute-circle of applied gold cabochons. It uses the caliber 2460R31R7 automatic mechanical movement which has hour, minute, date and day functions. The strap is alligator leather and the clasp features Vacheron Constantin's Maltese Cross which also appears on the crown. A post on the Watch Pro Site shows more pictures and reveals that the price is said to be around 13,000 euros. It's not a big, crazy twirl of a watch like some of the complications we have seen before and will see more of as Baselworld and SIHH approach but if you want a watch to hand down to generations, this is a keeper.
