Abercrombie & Kent Presents "Cinema-cations"

Filed under: Luxury Travel & Hotels

Abercrombie & Kent Cinemacations
Ever watched a movie about an adventure in a far off land and wished you were there? Luxury travel company Abercrombie & Kent is betting that you have and is ready to bring the fantasy to life with their new "Cinema-cations" travel packages. Inspired by your favorite movies there are itineraries available all over the world, including a Moroccan adventure based on "Sex and the City 2" (complete with sunset camel ride), a trip to India based on "Eat, Pray, Love", and even one to Great Britain inspired by "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1" that's great for families. Other movie itineraries include "The Hurt Locker," Agatha Christie's "Death on the Nile," and the famous and beautiful "Out of Africa."

Created so you can 'follow in the footsteps of your favorite actors' each of the Cinema-cation packages are created specifically to emulate as much of the movie experience as possible, taking you to the same places and through the same adventures as the characters (minus the drama, of course).

Which one will you choose? I'll take one of each please.

Crack of Noon Tours, Travel For Those Who Aren't Morning People

Filed under: Luxury Travel & Hotels

Crack of Noon Tours
If you're not a morning person then one of the big downsides of most tour-based vacation packages is that all too often the daily schedules start practically at the break of dawn. Crack of Noon Tours is geared for those of us who like to sleep in and start vacation days in a leisurely way (I seriously feel like they designed this idea just for me) with none of the activities scheduled to begin before "the civilized hour of noon," which means that although breakfast is included daily you can also choose to sleep in or take the morning to do some sightseeing and spontaneous exploring on your own. The scheduled activities are kept to the afternoon, evening, and night and are focused on balancing opportunities to learn with free time to explore and relax. Crack of Noon Tours also has a focus on good eats of authentic regional cuisine, encouraging vacationers to eat where the locals eat and truly get the local experience.

Crack of Noon currently offers two tour packages, one in France from Sept 22 - Oct 3rd and one in Italy from Oct 6 - Oct 18th, with only 24 spots available in each at a price of $3,290-$3,375 per person.

Wailea Beach Villas Opening Special

Filed under: Dining, Luxury Travel & Hotels

I mentioned Wailea Beach Villas back in January. Now that the Maui beach resort is ready to open they have created a special menu to lure guests. Those who book five or more nights will receive a private dinner prepared by a chef and served in the privacy of your luxury suite. The island-themed dinner includes options such as chili-lime-dusted sea scallops with papaya cucumber salsa, macademia-nut-crusted ono with chili coconut butter sauce, and chocolate lava cakes with vanilla bean ice cream. The meal also includes selections from the Wailea wine cellar. Two-bedroom penthouses start at $825 per night and  three-bedroom villas start at $1,500. The offer is for reservations made by July 31, 2006 for visits before December 15, 2006.
