Park City Mega Estate Up For Court-Ordered Auction

A home in Park City, Utah which was once listed at $24 million will try its luck at auction next week. The last asking price for this home on 56 acres was $21.5 million but it will likely go for far less than that. The 6,800-square-foot home has four bedrooms and is right off of the Payday run on Park City Mountain Resort. It has never been lived in.

The kitchen has four dishwashers and multiple Sub-Zero refrigerators. All of the walkways and driveways are heated. A report on local station Fox 13 says that this home was originally supposed to be a guest house for a much larger home. It went into Chapter 11 and then Chapter 7 and is now being sold through a court-ordered U.S. bankruptcy auction. It is being sold with all of its furniture.

The auction takes place on January 25 at the home. A $100,000 cashier's check is required to bid. It is predicted that the home could sell in the $10 to $15 million range. More info is available at the auction website.

Dr. J and his family have already moved. Erving, 59, won three championships, four MVPs, three scoring titles and was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1993 and is most famous for his slam dunk. He bought the home in 2006 but moved on to according to an article on KSL back in January (the article also has images of the home) he left to capitalize on some business opportunities.

The five-bedroom home in a gated community was listed for $2.25 million earlier this year. Earlier this year, Erving ran afoul of the homeowners' association for violating some of the HOA rules and falling behind on his fees. The organization scheduled an auction of the home to collect nearly $10,000 but the issue was later resolved. A video news report from when the house first went up for sale is after the jump.

This home in the Park Meadows area of Park City, Utah is a bit of a strange duck. The home has nine bedrooms with over 22,000 square feet of living space. The home is angular and modern and the pictures reveal some really huge spaces. The kitchen seems to have some sort of mirrored ceiling and there seem to be a lot of spaces dedicated to play with both a poker table and a foosball table in evidence. The home's design is so strange that it seems like it would be a hard sale. It is listed at $4.9 million.
