Trump Marina To Become Golden Nugget Hotel

The Golden Nugget is coming back to Atlantic City. It has been announced that Landry's, Inc., parent company to the Golden Nugget Las Vegas and Laughlin, has agreed to buy the Trump Marina Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City. The Golden Nugget Atlantic City operated a casino-resort from 1980 to 1987. Tilman J. Fertitta, Chairman, President, CEO and owner of Landry's, Inc. said that the company is excited to bring the brand back to Atlantic City and wants to "transform the Trump Marina into a luxurious and exciting hotel and casino with the highest level of service." The purchase price was $38 million, said to be one tenth of the 2008 offering price.The Golden Nugget will honor all existing Trump Marina customer points and rewards, not only in Atlantic City but also in the Las Vegas and Laughlin Golden Nuggets. The hotel is located in the Marina District next to Borgata and Harrahs. It's the only casino with a full service marina. Plans include bringing Landry's restaurant concepts into the hotel with a Chart House overlooking the marina, Red Sushi, Lillie's Asian Cuisine and Noodle Bar and Grotto Italian Ristorante and Vic & Anthony's Steakhouse. The entire property will get a refresh with new bars, lounges, shopping and updated rooms and suites. All improvements are expected to be completed before the end of the year.
