Breguet Marine Tourbillon Chronograph

The latest watch from Breguet is the Ref. 5837, a chronograph that includes a tourbillon. The beautiful 18K pink gold watch uses the manual-wind Breguet caliber 554.2T movement with 25 jewels and a power reserve of 50 hours. The watch has front and back sapphire crystals and is water resistant to 100 meters. The dial is black rhodium plated over 18K gold and is engine-turned in a wave pattern. The very handsome watch comes with a rubber strap. It's an attractive caoutchouc rubber strap with a gold clasp but I still think that elegant watch deserves a more elegant band.

Maybach Tourbillon Watch

The Maybach Tourbillion watch is but to the same high standards as each car in the brand that it represents, and, as a spokesman for the company said, "it captivates like one of [their] vehicles." The watches are finely tuned for the highest degree of style and reliability possible. Each is enclosed in an 18-karat gold case and has a matching gold clasp on the supple crocodile band. The clock's hands are also made of gold. There are 17 rubies that ensure the precision of the timepiece within its German silver interior. A unique grill design, hand-engraved and gives the origin, year of manufacturer and the numbering of the piece, makes the back of the watch. Only 12 watches will be made, one for each cylinder of the Maybach's engine. The watches are priced around 120,000€.

Parmigiani Fleurier Launches Ladies Watches

Parmigiani Fleurier debuted their new women's line last week at the premiere and after party of Friends with Money (the new Jennifer Aniston movie). The watches are being shown off this week at ~~Baselworld~~ the Basel SIHH show and include the Kalpa Grande, Donna, and Piccola models which are available in gold or steel with pave set diamonds and dials in mother of pearl or guilloche. The watches feature calf skin straps by Hermés. The most interesting watches in the collection are the Kalpa XL Tourbillon Diamonds and the Toric Retrograde Perpetual Calendar, the ‘Luna Blu’ (both shown above). The 30-second tourbillon has two time zones and an open window that shows the weekly power reserve indicator. The Toric Retrograde Perpetual Calendar, ‘Luna Blu’ has a retrograde date indicator and displays days, months, and leap years. If you are more concerned about the diamonds than the tiny movements and functions then the Kalpa haute joallerie is your time piece. It is covered in over 17 carats worth of diamonds. Zenith Defy Collection Watches

We've covered a bunch of Zenith's watches before. Usually their watches tend to be on the elegant and restrained side so this new collection the "sport-chic" Defy Classic is a departure. The chronograph uses the El Primero 4021SC movement with 39 jewels, beating at 36,000 bph. The large stainless steel case measures in at 46.5mm and has a small seconds-hand at 9 o’clock, power reserve indicator, central seconds-hand and a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock. The power reserve model uses the automatic Elite caliber 685SC movement with 38 jewels and a power reserve of 50 hours and is slightly smaller at 43mm. The third model is a time-only version with the automatic caliber Elite 680SC with 26 jewels and a power reserve of 50 hours and is also 43mm.
