Toni Braxton Facing Foreclosure Again

toni braxtonOnce again, Grammy-winning and financially-challenged singer Toni Braxton is facing foreclosure. The Wall Street Journal reports that the holder of Braxton's mortgage debt won bankruptcy court approval to start proceedings against her home in Duluth, Georgia. Braxton doesn't own the property, a trust does. She owes $1.5 million on her mortgage, while the property itself been appraised at $1.2 million. She took out the mortgage in 2004 with Wells Fargo Bank and the lender later transferred its interest in the debt to a trust set up to administer a pool of mortgages for investors in those securities.According to the WSJ, Braxton earlier told the bankruptcy court she had wanted to stay in the home.

Braxton, filed for Chapter 7 liquidation last fall. She listed debts of $10 million and $50 million with assets in the $1 million to $10 million range. Creditors include Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, the Internal Revenue Service and Neiman Marcus. She had previously filed bankruptcy in 1998. The IRS had also filed a lien against her for $396,000.

Braxton also had a home in Henderson, Nevada that she bought in 2007 for $2.6 million. The home was listed as a foreclosure on Realtor.com for $1.15 million and sold on September 17 for $1.060 million. Braxton and her four sisters, all aspiring singers, have a new reality television show "Braxton Family Values" which will run on the WE Network this April. Earlier this month it was also reported that she is mulling over posing for Playboy.

TMZ reported this morning that Toni Braxton has filed for bankruptcy again citing debts of $10 million and $50 million in unpaid debts with assets in the $1 million to $10 million range. Creditors include Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, the Internal Revenue Service and Neiman Marcus. She had previously filed bankruptcy in 1998. Earlier this year the IRS filed a lien against her for $396,000. One thing Toni won't have to worry about is her Nevada home, the one we checked out back in August.

The six-time Grammy winner and her husband, Keirston"Keri" Lewis bought the home in Henderson, NV home in 2007 for $2.6 million. The home was listed as a foreclosure on Realtor.com for $1.15 million. Listing pictures show that the home has been completely cleaned out. The home in the Seven Hills area of Henderson Nevada has four bedrooms, a pool, three-car garage and views of the surrounding desert. Realtor.com shows that the home was sold on September 17 for $1.060 million.

Move Trends recently unearthed an interesting story, Toni Braxton's Nevada home appears to be listed as a foreclosure. Braxton has had financial troubles for years starting with a bankruptcy filing way back in 1998 and this isn't the first time her name has popped up on our foreclosure radar. Last year TMZ reported that she was facing foreclosure on a Century City condo.

braxtonToni Braxton's new Las Vegas show will get an extra bit of glitz. The Giantto Group of Los Angeles has announced that the singer will use their one-of-a-kind diamond microphone during the "Toni Braxton: Revealed" show at the Las Vegas Flamingo Hotel. The microphone is worth $1 million and is made of white gold and covered in 650 carats of diamonds. Braxton will also give away a Giantto watch to one audience member during each of her shows. Maybe this will become a new addition to the famously extravagant concert riders and stars will start demanding gold microphones.
