Tom Dixon Designs in the U.S. this Summer

If you've already heard of Tom Dixon then you'll be glad to know his designs are making the move the to the States this summer. And if you haven't heard of him well then a taste of his work is pictured here, Copper Shade Pendants. They're plastic polycarbonate pendant globes coated internally with copper that look equally beautiful hanging solo or in a large group. Other designs of his that catch my eye are the Fresh Fat Easy Chair and the Spin articulated table candelabra.

Designer Airstream is Stocked with Goodies

Aimed at a younger market than the usual camping trailer crowd, this Design Within Reach Airstream comes with some additional accessories and modifications that make it a little trendier and more appealing to the "mobile young modernist" consumer. Among featured items there's a Nelson Ball clock, Heller Dinnerware place settings for 4, recessed lighting, a skylight, a Tom Dixon Wire Coat Rack, and of course a furnished kitchen area, lavatory, and shower. The fun stuff doesn't stop there, with panoramic windows, a fabric awning, Tripolina chairs, a Sony sound system and TV, and (deep breath) the list just keeps going and going. Want one of your own? No problem, but it'll cost you $49,066.

The S Chair

The S Chair by Tom Dixon is simplicity itself. As we've seen before in Dixon's designs, he reduces furniture to its essential components. The chair which was designed by Dixon for Cappellini in 1991 and is available in black and white pony leather or in wicker and marsh straw version and other fabrics. The chair has a metal frame and sells for $1297.
