Milus Tirion TriRetrograde Seconds DLC Watch

One of my favorite "check me out and stare at me" complications is still the TriRetrograde movement module by Milus. Utterly pointless, the complication is nevertheless great to watch. It takes the seconds indicator and divides it up into three 20 seconds retrograde dials. Even after is release a few years ago, the Milus Tirion "still has it." Next on the list of variants of the collection is this DLC black model with a lot of carbon fiber.

The case itself is 45mm wide in steel covered with hard DLC, but the strap, dial, and bezel are carbon fiber. There is really a lot going on in this watch, but it is still quite fun - and sporty as well. I was impressed with the collection since I first saw them. Not only is the look very enduringly good, but the quality is impressive as well. While I haven't seen this specific model yet, it should satisft those who have a 'need' for the black look with all the carbon fiber. Movement is an adapted Swiss ETA movement with a special Milus module over it.

Milus Tirion TriRetrograde Watch Refreshed For 2010

While it is not a fundamentally different timepiece that the original, Milus has reworked small design aspects of its hot selling Tirion TriRetrograde watch - offering a new version for 2010. The signature complication that features three 20 second retrograde dials on the face (that together indicator a full minute), really put the brand back on the map. Over the last few years the concept has been implemented into a number of Milus timepieces. What you have now is a more sober, streamlined look - comfortable in its skin. The original played between modern and classic elements, and this version retracts a bit from the futurism of the original. The case has remained similar in style at 45mm wide, here in steel. It is a fantastically comfortable and nice to look at case which is unlike much of what else is out there, and it contains a Swiss automatic movement with a special Milus module for the special TriRetrograde complication. This model comes with a cream white dial and anthracite Arabic numerals, but others are sure to come. Seen here on n alligator strap. Look for it soon.

Milus Tirion TriRetrograde Seconds Skeleton 1919 Limited Edition Watch

The TriRetrograde Seconds complication put Milus back on the horology map and was first placed in their Herios line of watches that featured a square case. The follow up timepiece using the successful TriRetrograde Seconds movement from Milus is this Tirion Skeleton 1919 Limited Edition (of 38 pieces) watch. The obvious purpose of this watch is to imbue a classic looking design with the handsome and visually stimulating complication. Remove your gaze from the watch face and focus on the case and strap alone - you have just a nicely put together, but conservative watch for the most part. Add in the skeletonized dial with the TriRetrograde Seconds complication, and you start to have something interesting, yet classic feeling.

The striking feature about the dial aside from the complications is the depth of it. There are several true layers and each is interesting in its own right. Outermost is the numeral dial that the well-conceived hands easily reach. Thus you can ignore the middle of the watch for brevity's sake when you just want to know the time. Spend a little bit more time on the dial and you can watch the simple but gratifying TriRetrograde seconds complication. Three retrograde dials each measure 20 seconds. They operate one at a time moving clockwise - being fun to watch. In addition to this, a date dial is viewable at 6 o'clock. The case itself is large at 45mm wide and done in rose gold for this limited edition. Overall, the Tirion TriRetrograde Seconds Skeleton 1919 limited edition is another classy but stimulating timepiece from Milus.
