The holidays are the perfect time to put out odd little decorative items and other seasonally-theme things that make the house look festive but have little "real" purpose. At least, most of them have little purpose. The Holiday Pillows from Jean-Francois Lesage can certainly improve the cushiness of your couch or a favorite chair. There are two designs, a snowflake ($475) and a reindeer ($505), and both are embroidered on oversized, soft French felt pillows along with the year. Each measures 24" x 24".

Throw pillows are a nice way to accent a room without replacing the floor or furniture. You can easily introduce new textures and colors to a room, brightening it or making it more elegant, if you choose. A pillow like this Velvet Beetle Pillow, designed by Helene Ige, can be a nice touch. The pillow itself has a down and feather fill and comes in vibrant jewel-tones. It is accented with a beetle made of gold metallic foil. The beetle design is not so large that it draws too much attention from the rest of the room, but it does add a bit of interest to what might otherwise be boring pillows.
