Sendai Shelving

It's practically impossible to get too much shelf space, especially when the shelves themselves can be interesting. Although I do love the big heavy bookcases found in the studies and libraries of old homes, they just don't look very good in any other environment. But items like this Sendai Shelving from The Conran Shop are much more versatile, not to mention less obtrusive and overbearing in the smaller spaces so many of are working with. Designed by the innovative architect Toyo Ito, it's constructed of oil-varnished mahogany and alder with glass shelves. 49"x15"x75.5", $6100.
