Rebecca Jewelry Sees Profits Rise

Finally some good news in the jewelry world. National Jeweler reports that Rebecca, the Italian jewelry brand actually saw its sales double for the first half of the year. That would be impressive in any climate but it's downright astounding at a time when we are seeing so many stores and brands collapse due to the poor economy and a slide in consumer spending.
The Rebecca brand sells gold, silver and gold-plated jewelry featuring large colored stones in bold and chunky designs. The brand has been popular in Italy for years is now making major forays into the States with distribution deals with stores like Fred Segal and Bloomingdale's. The brand is a subsidiary of the Testi organization in Empoli, Italy. The designs are colorful and attractive and often feature circles printed with the brand name in a style that reminds me a bit of Bulgari but at a lower price point. The Rebecca pieces vary from chunky cocktail rings to long chain necklaces, dangling earrings and even a Rebecca watch. Price points are modest, generally pieces are in the several hundred dollar price range. The brand has been seen on Rihanna, Carmen Electra and Pink as well as other celebrities. Up next for Testi is men's collection called Alessandro Testi.
