Scubacraft, On The Water And Beneath It

It's hard not to be intrigued by a craft that is billed as being "perfect for those 007 moments." Certainly the Scubacraft, a small boat that can happily float on the water or with a few alterations, dive beneath it, would be James Bond worthy. The Scubacraft recently went through underwater testing at the Pinewood Studios, a place where many Bond films have been shot. The Scubacraft can zip along above the water at speed of up to 50 miles per hour and can dive to a depth of 30 meters (nearly 100 feet). It's not a submarine so you will need to wear diving apparatus, something that James Bond probably has built into his special diving tuxedo. The engine produces 160 hp propelling the twin-hulled craft forward at a rapid rate. Underwater electric thrusters give the driver the experience of flying underwater.

The developers of Scubacraft are currently taking orders and expect the first customers to take delivery at the end of 2010. Scubacraft is priced from £100,000 with the final price being largely dependent on specification. Check out video after the jump!

Silvestris 23, One Sexy Tender

So often in the depths of winter we get to see the really cool yacht concepts. Just something to keep us going until boat season. Recently at the Millionaire Fair in Amsterdam, Maarten de Bruijn (the man also behind the rebirth of the Spyker car brand) debuted the Silvestris 23' Sports Cabriolet. The Silvestris is a a sexy new all aluminum speedboat which has a seawater-resistant, leather-trimmed interior that can be sealed off with the touch of a button. Production on the 23-foot boat has begun and Silvestris Haute Motive Concepts is also planning similar "haute couture" automotive and aerospace projects.

Castagna Mini Tender

Our siblings over at Autoblog already covered a couple of the Castagna modifications but I was particularly interested in this Mini modification. Classic Driver profiles the Tender,  a mod of the Mini Cabrio that is designed for nautical types. The rear is lengthened and the car has a fixed-access compartment with anti-theft bars instead of normal doors. It has a teak-lined steel double bottom for towels and clothes plus a shower with a 30-liter tank of fresh water and a powerful stereo for beach parties. Other details include extra headlights for lighting those parties and a brightly-striped cloth top from Missoni. The seats are upholstered in neoprene so they won't be damaged in you hop in the car all salty from the sea. Other options include additional seats and four load hooks so that the Tender can be lifted up onto your yacht.
