Valentine's Sweepstakes: Win a Weekend in Godiva's Chocolate Hotel Suite

Filed under: Dining, Luxury Travel & Hotels

godiva suite
Get shopping, because if you purchase the right box of Godiva candy, you could win a May weekend getaway for two in Godiva's all-chocolate Decadence Suite in New York City's Bryant Park Hotel. Godiva does a Valentine's Day promotion each year, and for 2009, anyone who buys the winning box of chocolates -- for $23 and up -- may win the chocolate suite. The winning box, sold only in North America, will contain a note informing the buyer of his or her good luck.

In addition to staying in the suite, the winners also will be treated with several chocolate-themed activities, among which is a private tasting in Godiva's Rockefeller Center boutique and a dinner for two at one of New York's top restaurants. They will also go home with a year's supply of Godiva chocolate.

The room was created by Los Angeles designer Larry Abel and features interior design by Jonathan Adler. Hanging in the "living room" was a painting built of multicolored chocolate pieces inspired by Gustav Klimt's painting The Kiss. Above the dining table was a "canvas" dripping with brown and white chocolate -- a takeoff on Jackson Pollock's signature "drip" paintings. Books opened to a mound of chocolates. A glass-covered table features a design under the glass made up of chocolate pieces. Visitors can feel free to sit on the sofa, which is chocolate-covered only on its sides, but don't touch the chocolate walls, or light the fireplace (with its chocolate logs and mantle) or chocolate candles, or try to snuggle up in the chocolate easy chairs.

Win a Strand of Mikimoto Akoya Pearls

Many years ago my mother went to Japan, and one of the things she brought back was a string of pearls from Mikimoto. I've always associated pearls with Mikimoto, and I'm sure many others do as well -- the company originated the cultured pearl and has been in business since 1893. Thanks to Mikimoto, there's a bright spot in this challenging holiday season: The company is sponsoring a contest whereby one random winner will receive a strand of Mikimoto Akoya Pearls estimated at $2,500. No purchase necessary, and contest ends March 31, 2009. Rules are here.

Sub-Zero Dream Kitchen Up For Grabs

While the phrase "Enter to win!" is often accompanied by eyerolling and a lesson in probability, when it comes to the 2008 Sub-Zero Dream Kitchen -- and dreamy it is, complete with sleek sub-zero fridge, freeze and wine storage alongside $2,000 worth of gourmet goodies from Dean & Deluca, Wolf dual range, Kohler kitchen gear ... the list goes on -- the words just may inspire a foodie frenzy. Until July 31, enter here if you aspire to cook and entertain in this kitchen-for-the-gods (did we mention ambrosia flows freely from those Kohler products? And there is a subscription to the Windsor Sonoma Wine Club?). Winners of the $50,000 in kitchen booty will be notified August 3. I hope I'm invited to your first dinner party.

Godiva's Million-Dollar Hearts On Fire Diamonds Sweepstakes

To celebrate Valentine's Day, Godiva has decided to give away a million ways to say "I love you" - by which we mean that they're giving away a $1,000,000 worth of Hearts On Fire diamond jewelry, as well as a year-long supply of Godiva chocolates. The prize is intended to be the "ultimate extravagance" as far as chocolate and diamonds go, but it will only go to one lucky winner. Two runners up will receive $50,000 worth of diamond jewelry, as well as the year's supply of chocolate. All three winners will be announced on or around Valentine's Day.

The sweepstakes was unveiled by Sienna Miller, who is one of the spokespeople for Hearts On Fire and wore some of their jewelry in addition to her Cartier at the Golden Globes. Participation codes to enter the drawing can be picked up at Godiva Boutiques and authorized Hearts On Fire retailers .
