Suunto Lumi, A Sports Watch For Women

The Suunto Lumi is the latest addition to Suunto's line of watches with computer functions. The Lumi is Suunto's first outdoor instrument watch just for women. It has altimeter, barometer and compass functions along with benefits such as sunrise and sunset times, personal day counter, an easy-to-use interface, and a menu in four languages. To appeal to women it has been jazzed up with straps in different colors. It will be available as of September 1 and sells for $300 to $350 depending on the function.

Suunto G6 Golf Watch

We've blogged about the sports-friendly computerized watches from Suunto before. Now they have a PGA golfer, Davis Love III as a celebrity spokesperson for their Suunto G6 watch which is aimed at golfers. Love tested a pre-release unit in January and found that its functions, which monitor tempo, rhythm, backswing length and more, helped him improve his swing.  The G6 has sensors called accelerometers that record over 200 measurements each second. The little computer then breaks the swing down into it's individual components. The watch also can help keep score during games and record game statistics. It sells for $399. Something tells me a lot of golfing dads will be getting these for Father's Day this year.
