Floor Ferraris and F1's at the Ascari Race Resort

For the price of a $160,000 membership plus a $6,500 annual fee, you can get 50 days of high-speed driving in a fleet of supercars at Spain's lavish Ascari Race Resort. Situated in the dramatic southern Andalusian mountains, the Ascari consists of a luxury resort complex adjacent to a 3.4 mile racetrack designed to replicate famous Formula 1 courses. The resort features of a ten-villa luxury hotel, spa, salon, clay shooting range, pools, bars and a helicopter pad to take guests to a beautiful beach 15 minutes away. The fleet of cars ranges from several race-prepped Lotus Elises and BMWs to ex-Formula 1 machines and Ascari's own brand of supercar. However, they can procure Ferraris, Lamborghinis or "just about anything you could wish to drive on the circuit, given time and sufficient credit card headroom," BusinessWeek notes. See the gallery for more.

Fabulous Cars Convene In Palm Beach

The elite will be convening in Palm Beach, Florida next week for a couple of slices of car nirvana. If you've got a jones for gawking at Ferraris of all sorts and rare supercars of all sorts, this is the place to be. First up is the sixteenth Cavallino Classic. The event takes place January 23 through January 28 and is a celebration of all things Ferrari including track days and a concours at The Breakers. Palm Beach will also be host to the second Palm Beach Supercar Weekend, Jan. 26-28. This event includes the chance to see Jim Glickenhaus' Ferrari P4/5 at the Palm Beach Supercar Concours at the International Polo Club in Wellington.

Both these festivals offer a constellation of different events. The Cavalliino Classic includes the La Bella Macchina event on January 25, a cocktail reception that is a celebration of Ferraris, private aircraft, yachts, Chopard jewels and Zino Platinum cigars. The Palm Beach Supercar Weekend includes a private mansion tour with Cedric Dupont, an Emilio Pucci fashion show and a polo match. General admission to the Supercar Concours is $40.

Jaguar XF: The Next BondMobile?

Behold the supercar that very well may grace the silver screen in the 22nd installment in the Bond series: the Jaguar XF. Although a lot of this intelligence is speculation, it is relatively well educated speculation. Given the fact that Ford still has exclusive product placement rights for this next Bond film, one might presuppose that Aston Martin may want to continue their reign after the beautiful DBS aired in Casino Royale...However! It turns out Ford has placed the Aston Martin badge on the auction block, and it isn't expected to stay there long. So unless Ford wants to give up a 500GT (and really, I don't see Bond behind the wheel of a muscle car), I think we can assume Bond will be riding the cat in the next one. And what great timing too, as they've just recently released a ton of beautiful photographs, CG and sketches of the XF over at AutoBlog. I, for one, am rooting for her; and come on, who doesn't love to hear those crazy Brits say "Jag-u-ar"?

New Gallardo Sexyness

Over 600 horses out of a twin turbo V10. You can probably stop reading here and click the read link to look at the pretty pictures. If you simply must read on, you'd be happy to know that our cohorts over at Autoblog have some thrilling news about the successor to the already popular Gallardo. The newest iteration is in the form of a split pea soup green sportscar on 'roids with a bit too much carbon fiber. No word yet on if the Lambo seen here is a prototype or the production model, but we'll see soon.

Jaguar XJ220 on eBay

Our friends over at Autoblog found a beauty on Friday for their eBay find of the day. This sleek silver dreamboat is the Jaguar XJ220, a supercar which hit speed of 217m.p.h, just shy of the 220 that gave it its name. This car, a 1992 has just over 3,000 miles on it. It can be road registered in all 50 states but don't make this your main baby, you will be limited to 2500 miles per year. This auction for this rare beast ends tomorrow and last time I checked bidding was over $143,000.

Koenigsegg CCX Supercar Will Go On Sale in Las Vegas

Koenigsegg makes amazingly pricey and fast cars. Last year their CCR became the fastest production car in the world hitting a top speed of 241 mph only to be beaten by the Bugatti Veyron in October. But Koenigsegg isn't out to take back the crown yet. Their new CCX will be, like the CCR, the second fastest car in the world and this supercar will be available in the US. Gizmag reports that the CCX will be sold at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. The car will go on sale at Exotic Cars in the Forum Shops. The cars cost $650,000 to start.
