Calling James Bond: Sunseeker Unveils New Superyacht

UK-based Sunseeker, whose sleek craft had a starring role in the last three James Bond films, has unveiled the stunning new 40-metre (131-ft.) superyacht it plans to debut at the upcoming Southampton Boat Show. Bristling with balconies, bars and sundecks, it's designed to accommodate all the Bond girls you can muster in extreme luxury. An integrated touch-screen-controlled lighting system and state-of-the-art audio visual system by Bang & Olufsen help set the mood. The yacht's three decks of interior space are designed to optimize available natural light, and the lower deck guest cabins feature large, panoramic portlights. Layouts can be customized to individual customers' specifications so you can choose between more space or more cabins. Exterior-wise, an increased rake makes for an impressive streamlined profile and a sharp, ocean-going bow. Stairs curving inwards on each side of the hydraulic central bathing platform make for a dramatic entrance when boarding the yacht.

Sunseeker App Finally Gives You Something to do with Your iPad

As much as we love big cats and bush dogs, our favorite kind of predator is still made by Sunseeker. The Predator 108, to be exact, is the one with all the teeth and claws to get our attention. More precisely, it's the Sunseeker with the stowed Caterham 7 that kills us. that However, you probably didn't know there are two larger Predators and a surprisingly complete range of other Sunseeker motor yachts and cruisers from which to choose. To remedy those regrettable oversights, Sunseeker has released an app for your iPad that will get you caught up on all the latest. And Sunseeker itself says that this is the first step toward making one of its sailing yachts and motor yachts yours. That means you can't consider yourself wasting time with this app. You're planning for the future.

Sunseeker Predator 108 + Caterham 7 = Awesome by Land and Sea

If you've laid out the £7.1 million ($11.4M U.S.) necessary to take ownership of a Sunseeker Predator 108 Special Edition, you might want to give serious thought to whether you need a tender. After all, there are docks, water taxis, and the smaller yachts of lesser mortals to get you from ship-to-shore.

What you might actually want is something as magnificent on land as the Predator is on the water in that case, Sunseeker would like to recommend you install a Caterham 7 in the hold. As a kickstart to inspiration for for visitors to the London Boat Show the yacht maker did just that. Fair warning though: the Predator sleeps eight but the Caterham only seats, so you'll probably need to be nice to the captain to get a ride. And if you really can't do without a tender – Caterhams are known to have a hard time floating in Aegean inlets – allow us to introduce you to the word "inflatable."

The London Boat Show runs until January 17.

Sunseeker Debuts 30 Metre Yacht

Certain yacht makers may be experiencing something of a crisis as my colleague Deidre Woollard reported recently, but that hasn't stopped the high-end brands from rolling out new models. UK-made Sunseeker, whose sleek craft had a starring role in the last three James Bond films, is faring well and just unveiled its new 30 Metre trideck superyacht (above) at the London Boat Show. It features a dual control flybridge helm, accommodation for up to ten guests and four crew, and speeds of up to 28 knots. Throughout the luxe ship there are state-of-the-art electronics, rich walnut furnishings, highly polished teak decks, embossed headlinings, high gloss lacquer bulkheads, richly tanned leather and plush fabrics and carpeting.

Nicole Kidman Needs To Move Her Yacht

Way back in 2004 Nicole Kidman bought herself a yacht for Christmas, picking up the Sunseeker 74 named Hokulani for $4.5 million. Times have changed for Kidman, who has left her boat in a marina in Sydney, Australia. The Independent reports that locals are angry because when Kidman sold her harborfront apartment she left her yacht still moored in the marina reserved for residents. She still owns a waterside mansion elsewhere in the Sydney area. A spokesman said that the boat was left in the marina because she was planning to pick up another apartment in the area. That didn't happen and he spokesman says the yacht will be moved. Some are concerned that Kidman has gotten special treatment because she is a celebrity. Kidman is reportedly in Nashville licking her wounds after the failure of her latest movie "Australia" but she should consider flying to Sydney and picking up the boat. After all, a summer cruise on a five cabin luxury yacht can turn almost any frown upside down.

Sunseeker Locean For Sale

With another James Bond movie coming up, focus is once again turning to the Sunseeker yachts, which, as my colleague Jared Paul Stern mentioned, have appeared in the last three Bond movies and will have a role in Quantum of Solace.

You can have your own James Bond moment with the Sunseeker Predator 82 Locean, a preowned Sunseeker listed with Sunseeker London. The 82-foot yacht has four cabins and is outfitted with Caterpillar diesel engines. The yacht includes a KVH G8 Satellite TV system with a 42 inch plasma television in the master cabin. The galley includes a Miele coffee machine built into a large storage cupboard and a full sized Bosch oven. The Locean is listed at £ 1,750,000.

Sunseeker Yachts Star in Quantum of Solace

The Aston Martin DBS isn't the only high-performance means of transport to have a starring role in the new 007 film, Quantum of Solace. UK-made Sunseeker yachts also appear in the movie, which features one of the biggest ever boat chases in a Bond film, shot in Panama last March. Among the Sunseekers featured in the film is the Superhawk 43, from the company's high-performance range, as well as the 121-ft. M4 superyacht (above), the largest semi-custom production motoryacht ever to be built in the UK. Bond also rides in a classic vintage Sunseeker Sovereign 17 motorboat from 1970 at one point during the film. Sunseeker yachts have appeared in the last three Bond movies.

Sunseeker 37 Meter Tri-Deck Yacht

Pictures of the design of the latest Sunseeker yacht have been released. The 37 meter tri-deck yacht is the largest semi-custom motoryacht ever to be built in the UK. The yacht has a large hot tub, sit-up bar and dining area on the sky deck. The upper deck has a large saloon, a bar and sliding glass doors that open onto its own private aft cockpit. The main deck has a lounge, full beam dining area with a table for 12 and aft cockpit area as well as a full beam master stateroom with an office area. The yacht can be configured with either two twins and two double guest cabins or two twins and an aft master stateroom on the lower deck.

Sunseeker 90 To Debut at Southampton

Last year Sunseeker debuted their 60 and Predator 108 yachts at the Southampton International Boat Show, this year the Sunseeker 90 takes the stage at the show which takes place on September 15-24 2006. The new model is meant to be a step-up for those sold on the 82 Yacht but looking for a bit more boat. The new Sunseeker has a large flybridge deck with seating, sunbathing space, a wet bar and the option of a spa tub. The main deck area has a lounge with a bar and separate dining area. The yacht can accommodate up to eight people and each cabin has an LCD flatscreen TV with DVD/CD system. There are several different layouts giving you the option of larger crew space or more garage space. The yacht is also available with several different engine choices and is capable of speeds up to 30 knots.

Sunseeker Yachts To Be Featured In James Bond Movie

We already know what James Bond will be driving on land in "Casino Royale" now we know what he will be using on the water. Once again Sunseeker yachts will be featured in a James Bond movie. Sunseeker motoryachts have appeared both in "Die Another Day" and memorably in "The World Is Not Enough" when a Sunseeker Superhawk 34 zipped down the Thames river in the pre-title sequence. The Sunseeker Predator 108 is among the yachts which have been filmed.

New 36.5 Meter Sunseeker

If you're like me and need a reasonably large yacht and don't want to wait up to five years for a custom-built Feadship, Sunseeker is adding a new boat to their already sleek lineup. Launching this summer, Sunseeker debuts a gorgeous 36.5 meter yacht, (that's 119 feet.) It's not a performance styled yacht like the Predator series, including current flagship, the Predator 108. No, it is a full blown tri-deck yacht, designed to compete with current production lines from Benetti and Lazzara. It features the distinctive lines of Sunseeker with alot more space than available on previous Sunseekers.

The vessel will host 10 guests and 8 crew. The main salon is quite spacious and features a Sunseeker signature, a cocktail bar. A dining area and master stateroom share the main deck with the main salon. Upstairs is a captain's cabin and sky lounge with another cocktail bar. Hmm, I'm seeing a trend. Up top, a large sundeck features a hot tub, plenty of lounge space, and guess what...A cocktail bar!!! The guests stay in 4 cabins on the lower deck, 2 twins and 2 doubles. The first hull launches this summer and the new owners will have plenty of opportunities on board to toast their new yacht.
