Anthropologie's Beautiful Chelsea Market Store

The new Anthropologie, located inside the Chelsea Market in Manhattan, showcases the work of Pompei A.D., a creative branding and design firm. The 15,000-square-foot bi-level store opened this month. Pompei A.D. was commissioned by Anthropologie to develop the original Anthropologie store and has designed more than 100 Anthropologie locations throughout the United States since then. Part of Anthropologie's success has been the flea market/boutique feel of the stores which encourages browsing.

"Customers browse and revel in the ambiance of our environments, exploring the stores and their product offerings," Ron Pompei stated. "The average stay time is one and a quarter hours and can extend to several hours, leading to increased sales."
