From the Wall Street Journal's Private Properties:
--Former 'NSync singer Joey Fatone will auction his Orlando home on September 11. It is currently listed for $6.5 million (up from the $5.9 million it was at when it was our estate of the day) and the minimum bid for the auction is $3.7 million.

--Art dealer Larry Gagosian has bought a Los Angeles home owned by David Bohnett, the philanthropist and technology entrepreneur. The home was originally built for actor Gary Cooper and was listed for $18.9 million.
--A Montana ranch owned by the widow of Jay Call, the late founder of Flying J, a fuel retailer, has hit the market for $33 million. The Dancing Wind Ranch, is just outside of Livingston, Montana about a half-hour drive from Yellowstone National Park.

From the NY Post:
--Katy Perry and Russell Brand are continuing their NYC apartment hunt. Rumor has it that their budget is $3 million. Brand recently checked out a condo in the Upper West Side's storied Apthorp building. The $2.83 million, one-bedroom, 1½-bathroom, second-floor unit is 1,340 square feet.
--Siblings R. Hunter Cushing and Hilary Cushing Block had such strong opinions about who should sell Belle Meade, their late parents' Quogue estate, that a judge had to settle the matter. The court ordered the listing to go to Prudential Douglas Elliman's Enzo Morabito. The 1906 Greek Revival home is listed at $6.95 million.
--Corcoran Group broker Susan Breitenbach, sold her own 3 acres of vacant land in North Haven, at 42 Actors Colony Road, for $12 million.
--Restaurateur Stratis Morfogen, owner of Philippe on the Upper East Side and in the Hamptons, is listing his apartment at 930 Fifth Ave. for $3.5 million.
--Heidi Klum, Seal and their four children recently stayed at 400 West St. in the West Village, owned by Bob and Cortney Novogratz of "9 By Design" fame. The five-bedroom glass townhouse is listed for sale at $19.95 million.

From the LA Times Hot Properties:
--Soap star Katherine Kelly Lang and her husband, Alex D'Andrea have listed their Sherman Oaks home at $1.449 million.
--Professional skateboarder Erik Ellington has sold his Hollywood Hills contemporary for $1.4 million. He bought the home in 2007 for $1.845 million.
--"Doctor Who" producer Julie Gardner has purchased a Santa Monica Canyon-area house for $1.95 million.
--Karen Pankow, the ex-wife of trombone player James Pankow of the band Chicago, has sold her Malibu estate for $3.5 million.
--Actress Missi Pyle and her husband, grizzly bear expert and naturalist Casey Anderson, have sold their Beachwood Canyon home for $659,000.

--A comprehensive piece on the reclusive heiress Huguette Clark and the many properties she owns around the U.S.
--Steve Carell has picked up a home in Toluca Lake, California for $6 million. The home belonged to comedian Jonathan Winters.
--Interior designer John Saladino has listed his six-bedroom home in Montecito for $24.5 million. The listing is here.
--Mario Lopez has picked up a four-bedroom home in Glendale, California for $1.94 million.

Stone Phillips In New York City, Estate of the Day

stone phillipsThree years ago we covered the sale of "Dateline NBC" co-anchor Stone Phillips' two-bedroom, three-level penthouse in New York City. That apartment, which was listed for $4.45 million, eventually sold for $4.35 million. Now Phillips, who has left NBC and now produces documentaries, has put his 4,100-square-foot Flatiron loft on the market. The NY Post reports that Phillips bought the apartment in 2005 for $4.45 million. The three-bedroom full-floor unit has a soundproof media room, a library with tall bookshelves and a main entertaining area with a fireplace, large wine cooler and custom wood panelling. The master bedroom suite has a fireplace, his and her closets including a very large walk-in-closet and a master spa bathroom with a large steam shower, a Jacuzzi tub and heated flooring. This home is listed at $4.995 million.

--Robert De Niro's wife, Grace Hightower is set to sell her Upper East Side bachelorette pad in Trump Palace. The three-bedroom home ad an asking price of $2.495 million/
--Diandra Douglas, the ex-wife of Michael Douglas, and her Silicon Valley entrepreneur husband, Michael Klein, have paid $15.25 million for a townhouse on East 65th Street.
--Leonardo DiCaprio paid $15,000 to rent a house north of the highway in East Hampton over Memorial Day.
--Vornado chairman Steve Roth may never sell his Park Avenue apartment (listed at $9 million), now that another potential buyer has been turned down by the co-op board.

From the NY Observer's Manhattan Transfers:
--Hedge-fund manager Scott Bessent had bought the late Patricia Kennedy Lawford's 11-room duplex at One Sutton Place South for around $12 million.
--Former Vogue editor Gloria Schiff has bought a second-floor co-op at 630 Park Avenue that belonged to the late Broadway legend Cy Feuer for $2.3 million.
--Magazine photographer Platon Antoniou and his wife Rebecca, an illustrator, have bought the apartment they'd been renting at 16 Greene Street for $1,775,500.
--George Hirsch, founding publisher of New York magazine and then The Runner has bought a 1,955-square-foot apartment at the 111 Central Park North for $2.7 million.
-- Stone Phillips and his wife have finally sold their two-bedroom, triplex penthouse co-op unit on Central Park West in Manhattan for $4,350,000.

--Retired basketball star Scottie Pippen has sold his English-style manor estate mansion on 2.28 acres in Portland, Oregon for $2.95 million.
--Johnny Damon has listed his NY apartment for $8.2 million. We will be taking a look at this later as our estate of the day.
--Media billionaire Haim Saban is asking $12 million for Villa Eden, an Acapulco, Mexico estate, shown above, that Time Warner used to entertain clients and movie stars for decades. Check out the listing for this Mexican paradise here.

From Berg Properties Big Time Listings:
--Chicago Bears cornerback Charles "Peanut" Tillman has paid $1,249,500 for a Tudor-style single-family house in the Lake County suburb of Green Oaks, and he also has sold his single-family house in nearby Lake Bluff for $505,000. Bears fullback Jason McKie, meanwhile, has paid $535,000 for a two-story house in north suburban Gurnee, and has lowered the asking price on his house in nearby Waukegan from $309,900 to $294,900.
--Heavy metal singer Ronnie James Dio has sold a three-bedroom, 1,981-square-foot house in Los Angeles' Hollywood Hills for $1,110,000.
--Beach Boy Brian Wilson has sold a small house in the Sherman Oaks area of Los Angeles for $950,000.
--Scottish actress Ashley Jensen, who is on "Ugly Betty," and her husband have paid $1,650,000 for a three-bedroom, mid-century house in Los Angeles' Los Feliz neighborhood.
--Chris Webber has paid about the $3,750,000 asking price for a three-bedroom house in Malibu.

--The Real Estalker Mama has pictures of the Zorada Drive home where Portia DiRossi and Ellen Desgeneres actually live (as opposed to the investment property they recently put on the market.
--Slash has listed his Wattles Drive home for $6.995 million. You can check out a virtual tour of the five-bedroom Spanish sprawler here.
--As you many have heard, Tori Spelling and her husband Dean don't really own that bed and breakfast they called Chateau la Rue and revamped for the cameras of reality TV. The inn, otherwise known as Oak Creek Manor is for sale for $2.6 million and Tori and her hubby and baby have leased a five bedroom house in Beverly Hills.
--Christie Brinkley has listed her Water Mill, New York home for $7.9 million.
--A Radar article draws attention to the fact than Vincent Gallo is an unlikely real estate mogul.
--Actor/producer and restorer of note, Michael LaFetra is selling another home, a modern masterpiece in Brentwood for $3.995 million. The listing is here.
--Actor Giovanni Ribisi, who I've often spotted in Silverlake, is allegedly purchasing one of the rather nondescript condo/lofts on the corner of Silverlake Blvd for $675,000. Personally I watched these units go up and think Ribis can do better but perhaps this is just an investment place.
--Ribisi's ex-wife, Mariah O'Brien and her new man Trae Carlson have listed their home in Los Angeles for $3.75 million. Looks like it has been sold and they are looking for backup offers. The listing is here.

--James Cameron has put his 730 acres of Malibu ranchland on the market for $24.95 million. The listing is here.
--Sandy Gallin, the manager of Dolly Parton, Whoopi Goldberg and Cher, has sold a Beverly Hills home for $20 million. Gallin built the four-bedroom, five-bathroom house on a site he bought two years ago for $5.5 million This is the 40th house that he has either refurbished or built.
--The former Johnny Mercer estate in Palm Springs has come on the market for $2.315 million. The listing for the three-bedroom, three-bathroom home is here.
--Jazz artist Carol Welsman has sold her Studio City home for $1.6 million.
--Debi Derryberry, the voice of Jimmy Neutron, the title character of the animated film and hit TV series, has purchased the Manny Klein estate in Toluca Lake for slightly more than $1.4 million. SHe recently sold her Toluca Woods house, built in 1941, for $950,000.

Stone Phillips's Apartment, Estate of the Day

As we mentioned earlier in our real estate round-up, NBC personality Stone Phillips is eager to ditch this lovely penthouse. We thought we'd help him out by listing it as our estate of the day. Phillips and his wife recently cut the price on this  two-bedroom, three-level penthouse with views of  Central Park, the skyline and the Hudson River. The apartment has a 300-square-foot terrace with an outdoor sound system and landmarked facade obelisk sculptures. The kitchen has oak cabinets and a heated floor. The dining room has leather paneled walls and the living room has herringbone oak floors an ten-foot ceilings. It is all yours for $4.45 million. From the NY Times' Big Deal:
--Jerry Seinfeld has sold his former bachelor pad in the Bolivar for more than the asking price of $2.35 million.
--The apartment of former Miss America Bess Myerson has sold. The  two-bedroom duplex in a co-op building at 3 East 71st Street was listed for $2.1 million.
--A triplex belonging to Robert and Blaine Trump is now on the market for $17 million. The apartment was originally three units at 131 East 66th Street but is now one 6,500-square-foot residence. The apartment was gutted in preparation for a new interior design plan but when the couple separated plans ceased. The apartment has a double-height living room, stained glass windows and six fireplaces.

From the New York Observer's Manhattan Transfers:
--Montel Williams has sold all three of his units on Riverside Blvd. He purchased three units in two buildings, at 200 and 220 Riverside Boulevard and in 2003 sold the condo at No. 200. Now he has sold off two penthouses at No. 220. He sold one penthouse  for $2.275 million in June 2005 and and has sold the second for $5.7 million after a deal with his downstairs neighbors fell through.
 --Harry Belafonte has cut the price on his West End Avenue apartment. It was first listed for $15 million and now the price is down to $11.75 million. The listing for the six-bedroom apartment is here.
--Doug Lebda, the president and CEO of Barry Diller's IAC/InterActiveCorp has purchased a $10.9 million Central Park West penthouse. The five-bedroom duplex has multiple exposures and wrap terraces with park and city views.

--Stone Phillips has dropped the price on his apartment from $.5.5 million to $4.45 million. The prewar three-bedroom home has a terrace and a custom office. Check it out as our Estate of the Day later on.
--Lisa de Kooning, the only child of abstract expressionist Willem de Kooning, has sold one of her Manhattan apartments, a two-bedroom condo on the 37th floor at 200 E. 89th St. for $1.4 million.
--Socialite Elizabeth Lindemann has found a buyer for her apartment at 730 Park Ave. for more than her asking price of $21 million.
--Billionaire Ron Burkle has been seen checking out a $30 million penthouse at the TriBeCa Summit building at 415 Greenwich St.
--David LaChapelle has sold his East Village apartment which had an asking price of $795,000.

From the LA Times's Hot Property:
--Rita Rudner and her husband, Martin Bergman have purchased a Laguna Beach home for close to its asking price of $6.3 million. The couple also has a home in a penthouse overlooking the Las Vegas Strip.
--Johnny Carson's home on Pt. Dume in Malibu is expected to go on the market for close to $42 million. The 7,100-square-foot home sits on more than 4 acres and there is also a 2,700-square-foot guesthouse.
--Some astounding rent for Beverly Hills. Kelly Wearstler, designer of such hotels as the Viceroy Santa Monica, and her husband, Brad Korzen, chief executive of the Kor Group are paying $35,000 a month for a home while their new home is being refurbished.
--Screenwriter-producer Matt Cirulnick and his fiancée, Swedish model Suzanne Arvidsson, are buying a Venice home that had a list price of around $1.5 million.
--Actress Anita Barone and her husband, actor Matthew Glave have put their Hollywood Hills home on the market for $1.049 million and plan to buy a Valley home with a yard for their children. The listing is here.
