Great Lake Art Lamps

Minnesota artist Gary Lundstrom has created a new line of art lamps that celebrate Minnesota style and history. Great Lake Design. The lantern-style lamps are based on the white pnes that line the north shore of Lake Superior, and have stained glass interior lights and solid oak bases. The lamps cost $1200 a piece and part of the money from each sale will go to the Saint Louis County Historical Society in the Duluth Depot.

The $135,000 Entryway

You could hope your new house comes with a really cool piece of stained glass or vintage fireplace mantels or you could make your own luck by picking up a vintage piece from Architectural Artifacts, a company which I wrote about back in 2005 for their wrought iron specialties. They have stained glass, wood and marble fireplace mantels, lighting, doors, tiles, religious artifacts and amazing artifacts such as a the entire entrance of the Hillbrook mansion. The carved limestone entryway from Hillbrook, the estate of George Arents in Purchase, N.Y., includes a raised panel entry door. It sells for $135,000.

Adair Glass Stained Glass Room Dividers

Adair Glass makes gorgeous stained glass that you can move around. The Barcelona Room Divider has a kiln-dried, solid hardwood frame that holds American-made stained glass pieces, which are made with lead-free metals. There are other dividers in a variety of styles that range from subtle to bright. The  blue, plum and amber Barcelona sells for $759.95 for a three-panel divider.
