Louis Vuitton's Spring/Summer 2010 Runway Shoes

Louis Vuitton 2010 Runway Shoes
Runways typically show off a designer's crazier and more fanciful designs, and these shoes from Louis Vuitton's Spring/Summer 2010 collection are certainly fun. Featuring colorful metallics, tufts of fur, tassels galore, and several heels that are decidedly not sky-high, they're all very 'earth-meets-modern.' The Daisy Closed-Toe Mule shown here has pony-styled calf leather in mocha with a greenish tuft of goat's wool, a wooden sole, and contrasting metal accents in the form of highly shined rosy pink hardware and a 1" gunmetal gray heel. It's priced at $1400.

Other shoes in the group feature monogrammed denim, sheep's wool, and rivets. Talk about fun, I love them all!

Judith Leiber Python Sevilla Clutch, Handbag of the Day

Judith Leiber Python Sevilla Clutch Handbag
Here's a pretty, non-crystallized bag from Judith Leiber's Spring 2010 collection, the Seville Clutch in pretty lavender python. Hand-dyed leather is folded into a slightly pouchy trapezoidal shape and finished with a silver-plated clasp on the top. Satin lining, optional coiled top strap, and of course it comes packaged carefully in a box and signature bag. What a beautifully stylish way to carry a bit of spring with you where ever you go -- plus it's a design that you can use all summer and should stay relevant for seasons/years to come. $1,995

Emma Watson's Spring 2010 Burberry Campaign (and Missing Limb)

Emma Watson Burberry Photoshop
Harry Potter star Emma Watson is growing up, and she's doing it in style by aligning herself with the iconic fashion house Burberry. She started last fall and this year for the spring campaign she's as pretty and grown-up looking as ever. She did the shoot with her brother Alex Watson (above) as well as George Craig, Max Hurd, and Matt Gilmour.

The images are pretty much what you'd expect, crisp and classic and showcasing the season's trendy trench coats and iconic checked handbags, but one photo has been getting a lot of news due to a missing limb. In the picture above Emma's right leg seems to go mysteriously missing somewhere near the knee. Photoshopping error or just a weird angle? Who knows, I think it's an odd pose altogether. The Fashion Statement: What Will You Be Wearing in 2010?

You have to be Nostradamus to predict the future. But when it comes to fashion, it's a little easier. Here's my rule of thumb: Consider what's already been popular, push that as far as it can go (ultra low drop crotches, anyone?) and if you can't push it any further, go completely in the other direction.

That, or just ask around, like I did recently! Here are some trends my fashion friends will be watching closely next year.

Tribal prints: From tattoos to prints on dresses, leggings and shoes, tribal prints will be everywhere for spring. The look is warrior-like, intricate and, ahem, fierce.

Sweet Prints: The counterpoint to primitive tribal influences is soft and cuddly prints like blooms, birds, dogs, cats and strawberry. The point is to be cute and nice.

Sheer: Barely there, diaphanous -- whatever you call it, if you can see through it, you'll want to wear it. Many runways didn't bother with undergarments. In the real world, I might.

Military: Michael Jackson died when designers were coming up with their spring 2010 collections and it shows. Epaulets, braids, badges and other accouterments of the uniform marched down runways on both sides of the pond.
