Kate Spade Jitney Coin Purse - Small Splurge

We feature a lot of fantastic handbags, but what about what you keep inside your handbag? Here's a small splurge, just in time for summer (which I am so ready for after a cold, cold East Coast winter!). Kate Spade's cute and colorful Jitney Coin Purse, named after NYC's Hampton Jitney bus line, comes in two patterns, both with a summer theme: SPF (this page) and G&T (see below). The coin purse is cotton canvas with smooth cowhide trim and features a zipper closure and 14-karat light gold plated hardware. Unlined; 2.4" H x 3.5" W; $50.

Kate Spade Store Opening Totes, Handbags of the Day

Kate Spade's "store opening totes" is a collection of 7 individually designed canvas tote bags created in commemoration of the opening of several new Kate Spade stores around the country. Each bag is available in a limited edition of only 50 and is not only designed in honor of its specific store's location (this "stop and smell the roses" bag is representative of its store's home in Portland, Oregon) but is also only available in that individual store for purchase. So if you're looking to have a collection of all 7 bags you better get ready for a cross-country travel spree.

This artificial crocodile design representing the Everglades in Florida is my favorite.

Armand De Brignac is the New Cristal

After denouncing Cristal, the luxe drink of choice of rap artists for many years, Jay-Z was left with a tough decision as to which champagne could replace it as a sign of opulence in rap/music culture. It appears that the artist has decided to (unofficially) endorse Armand De Brignac now, featuring it in one of his new songs as "gold bottles with the ace of spades." It seems like a good choice based on the bottle alone.

Armand De Brignac has been produced by a family owned vineyard for over two hundred years and has only just started to be imported from France. It is said to have notes of flowers, citrus, dried fruits and brioche.

Kate Spade El Morocco Small Eley, Handbag of the Day

This El Morocco Small Eley bag by Kate Spade perfectly blends cuteness with class. The style is inspired by a 1950s nightclub called the El Morocco, known for its glamorous and famous celebrity clientele. Taking a cue from the classy styles of the era, the Eley handbag is slightly understated, but sure to be remarked upon once it is noticed. It has an all-over pattern in hair-calf with waxed leather trim, including the bag's handle and the top drawstring cord. It has gold hardware and a coral and gold cotton lining, with Kate Spade's signature Larabee dot pattern. Price: $695.
