File this under the category of "Too Much Sopranos Merchandise Is Never Enough." Actor Tony Sirico, aka Paulie Walnuts, launched his new cologne, Paolo Per Uomo (Paul for Men) a few nights ago at a bash in TriBeCa. Advertised under the catchphrase "Make It Known You Mean Business," the cologne is sold in a dark blue and gray bottle with a gray streak, to match Sirico's trademark coif. Asked what makes the cologne smell good, Sirico said they put some "cognac in it -- and it made the magic." There also are plans for Paulie-branded deodorant, aftershave, and other hygiene products. The cologne is not yet available in stores but will sell for $64.

Sopranos Wine

The HBO show may be long over but the branding power of "The Sopranos" lives on. A new Sopranos branded wine group has been launched featuring Italian wines from several different wineries in Italy including several Tuscan labels. The wines include a Chianti D.O.C.G., Pinot Grigio, and Pinot Noir and are already on sale through Mondo Wine online priced from $14.99 to $33.99. There will be a multimedia national campaign for the wine which will start in New York and expand coast-to-coast throughout the fall and holiday season.

Results of the Sopranos Auction

Filed under: Apparel, Auctions, Celebrity Shopping, Men's Style

Last month we reported that there was to be an auction of apparel from The Sopranos. The results from the June 25 event are in: Twenty-five outfits worn by James Gandolfini's alter ego raised $187,750 and benefited the Wounded Warrior Project, a nonprofit that aids wounded soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan. Gandolfini attended part of the Christie's auction with a soldier from the project.

The highest bid was for a faux-bloodstained outfit that Gandolfini wore in a scene when Tony is shot by a demented Uncle Junior: the black and beige short-sleeve polo shirt, a tank top and black pants brought in $43,750. The next highest bid was $21,250 for a four-piece costume that included a blue, red and yellow striped robe and boxer shorts that the actor wore in numerous episodes. Other top-selling outfits included a tan cotton bathrobe with lavender trim and 'S' insignia on the breast pocket that was featured in the pilot when Tony fetched the morning paper and fed the ducks in his pool, which raised $13,750.

All of the outfits were authenticated by Gandolfini, and many had the original production tags attached. See a sampling of the auctioned items in the gallery. See the entire lot and prices realized here.

Richard and Theresa Beauchamp from Steamboat Springs, Colorado placed the winning bid on the Porsche Cayenne for $90,000 and the auctioneer Jack Williams added in $10,000 of his own money for an even $100,000 raisedfor the Andre Agassi Charitable Foundation. The Beauchamps already own a Cayenne Turbo but are fans of the show.

Hard Rock's Wiseguy New Year's Auctions

To support the VH1's Save the Music Foundation and the Rock And Roll Forever Foundation, the Hard Rock Cafe is hosting an auction with several Sopranos-themed items. The biggest thing up for auction is an exclusive VIP New Year's Eve bash at the Hard Rock with may of the Sopranos cast members. At the moment, the bidding is at $100,000 for that package, but other auction items include a signed Gibson Firebird guitar from Steven Van Zandt, a saxophone signed by Clarence Clemons (both of Bruce Springsteen's E-Street Band) t and a VIP NASCAR package that includes a chance to meet several race drivers.

Bada Bing Cigars

We've already seen Sopranos cigars from CAO. Now rapper Jadakiss is working with Cutting Edge LLC to create Bada Bing Cigars (I'm not certain if the cigars take the name from the club on the Sopranos). The cigars, which are now in stores in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island, are manufactured in Nicaragua. They are described as being smooth and slow burning. Given that Jadakiss is quoted in the press release as saying " just because a cigar may not be the most expensive doesn't mean you have to suffer" don't look for these new cigars to break your budget.
