The Porsche Design Bobsled

Looking to get your kid the ultimate sled for the winter season? Look no further than Porsche Design. The German automaker's product design division won awards a couple of years ago with its aluminum sled, and has now followed up with a new plastic bobsled.

Inspired by the kind of racing bobsleds you might have seen in the Winter Olympics, the Porsche Design bobsled features slightly concave runners and optimized camber angles to make carving down a snow-covered hill and breeze. See for yourself in the gallery below or head to www.porsche.com/shop for availability.

Porsche Sportster Sled

If you have kids in your family then having a few sleds in the garage to keep them occupied on snow days and over Christmas vacation is a necessity, and getting this Sportster sled from Porsche Design would be a real treat I'm sure. Built for speed, the minimalistic design is also quite strong and can hold up to 100kg (or about 220 lbs) which means even dad can go for a ride (and show the kids how it's done!). It also folds up for convenience, when all the fun is over. $490

The Porsche Kinderbob Bobsled

Filed under: Gadgets, Luxury Cars & Autos

This winter your kids can totally ride around in (well, at least "on") a Porsche. It's the Porsche Kinderbob bobsled, and although I can't tell you how fast it will go I can tell you it will look awesome flying down a hill of snow. It's red and silver, and comes complete with the Porsche logo painted clearly on the side and a horn for letting those slower bobsledders know they need to get out of the way. And you the parent will have totally earned the right to say "Yeah, I bought little Timmy a Porsche for Christmas this year." All for just $115.

Volkswagen Snow Sleds

Volkswagen, not wanted to neglect any portion of their potential customer base, has a line of winter off-road vehicles for those who are still to young to drive. Their sleds are inspired by the designs of some of their cars. The Schlitten Snow Future GTI (pictured), for example, features an ergonomic design that was modeled after the Golf GTI., with lookalike grille, tachometers and steering wheel. It is made of high-quality, strong double-walled plastic and steers easily due to its central front ski. It will probably be a bit easier to place your order if you know German because the sleds are available from the German Volkswagen site. This one runs $144 (€109).
