Scottish Hotel Creates Coffee To Go With Whisky

A Scottish hotel has created a coffee blended to pair with a whisky. The Cuillin Hills blend was created by the Cuillin Hills hotel on Skye to match whisky from the island's Talisker distillery. The blend was created by Edinburgh Tea and Coffee Company to the specification of Peter Sim, the hotel's general manager and is a mixture of Indonesian and South American beans. The Talisker 18-year-old was used as the pairing companion but the coffee will work with any whisky. The blend has notes of dark chocolate, caramel and toffee with hints of liquorice and cinnamon. Sims says the coffee was developed to "complement and showcase malt whisky as the ideal after dinner drink."

Could the Gryson Skye be the next "it" bag? Designer Joy Gryson's resume reads like she could very well be the one to design the next must-have carry-all, but the Sky bag is probably not it. The bag is lovely, available in white, chocolate (pictured) and black leather, all with a contrast trim. It has woven top handles and a buckle shoulder strap, so it is quite versatile in addition to being easy to carry. It features a suede lining and gold-finish brass hardware, including the zippers on the front and top. Unfortunately, the bag just isn't quite exclusive enough to make it to the "it" bag status. On the plus side, this means that at least any interested shoppers will be able to get one without getting on a four month waiting list. Price: $695.
