Woven Silver Filigree Clutch, Handbag of the Day

celestina clutch
This is a unique clutch that I absolutely LOVE. It's the Woven Silver Filigree Clutch by Celestina and it not only looks different than a lot of clutches, but it handles differently also -- by opening at the middle into two halves. Made of woven sterling silver with a wooden base filigree detail, it's small (only about 6" x 5" x1") and has hard curved sides. There's no fabric lining inside, just a small wooden plaque embossed with the designer's logo and a wood-backed vanity mirror. $1,695

Fendi 8BR568, Handbag of the Day

fendi 8BR568
This Fendi bag immediately caught my eye because of its tranquil color and unusual texture. It would certainly dress up any simple outfit, and would look especially great with black. The 8BR568, available in the blue shown here and the silver shown below, has a metallic laminated look with leather overlays. It has geometric perforations throughout, a zip-top closure, large metallic leather pull, logo fabric lining with two patch pockets and one snap closure patch pocket. Measurements: 15.75" x 12.5" x 5.5" with 22.5" double handles and a 10" drop. Made in Italy, comes with a Fendi pouch. Regular price, $2,530, but on sale now at Bagsbuy for $1,644.95.

Marc Ecko Prez Watch: When Bling Goes Bad

ecko prez watch
If only there was a Luxist for bona fide street pimps - items like this would be the main attraction. I think that Marc Ecko has officially priced their Prez watch right out of their core market with a price starting at over $4,000 for this limited edition watch in either gold or silver. Inside is most likely a quartz movement, and the surfaces are studded with Swarovski crystals, but no diamonds. Really not a single diamond for $4000 bucks? Overall, each watch has 1,454 set stones making for what is bound to be a shiny, shiny looking watch.

In what can be described only as "drug dealer chic" the Prez watch certainly makes a statement about its potential owner. I am reminded by wheel spinners when I look at this watch, only with more unwanted pizazz. It is as though there is a blingy party in front of my eyes, and all the world's tasteless elite at gathering 'round. Feel free to disagree with my position on the watch, but you can't deny "gaudy" is the Prez watch's middle name. Availability is limited to select David Morris Stores at Selfidges London, Birmingham, and Manchester in the UK.

Nuance Tablecloth Clips

Few things say 'summer' more than a picnic outside with goodies like fresh watermelon and grilled sweet corn, but few things can ruin that fun faster than a gust of wind blowing the tablecloth up, over, and off -- taking with it any unfortunately placed beverages and paper plates. But you can avoid that whole nasty scenario with these very simple but really pretty looking tablecloth clips from Nuance. Made of stainless steel they'll fit right in with all kinds of decor and tablecloth patterns, and keep your fun summer meal from turning into a disaster story. Set of 4 clips for $98.

Shirley MacLaine Jewelry

Legendary actress Shirley MacLaine now has her own line of jewelry. MacLaine says that playing fashion designer Coco Chanel in a TV movie inspired her line of jewelry. The Chakra Sky Jewelry marries her interest in gemstones with her love of the metaphysical. The rings, pendants and earrings have names like Spirit Steering and Safe Landing and are made of eco-friendly sterling silver and gemstones such as amethyst, fire opal and lapis. The pieces are priced a bit higher than similar pieces I have seen but the actress's name may contribute to the pricing. The Chakra Sky rings shown above are worn at the top of the finger rather than at the base and sell for $328.

Cocoa Gourmet Chocolate Jewels

The blog Jewelry Insider hit upon a great item that combines jewels and chocolate -- perfection! A Swiss chocolate company, Cocoa Gourmet, has created what its calls its "Royal Collection," which features 12 chocolates made with safe-to-eat gold or silver, or sprinkled with diamonds. Priced at $1,250, the collection has four 22-carat gold chocolates, four pure silver chocolates and four sweet diamond pieces. There's also a $520 Gemstone Collection. Lovely, and an unusual gift idea, but I'm not convinced that ingesting metal is such a hot idea, though I guess if you have dental work you're ingesting it all the time ... Order here, if you're braver than I. Free worldwide shipping!

Emily Amey Seafan Jewelry

Jewelry designer Emily Amey takes her inspiration from nature's small wonders. A sprig of seaweed becomes a delicate necklace, the tendril of a vine coils to form a slim bangle, the tentacles of a squid are reimagined as dramatic hoop earrings under her keen eye. She designs in both gold and silver, using found beachglass in ethereal shades of blue-green as adornment. One of her biggest inspirations from the aquatic world is the lace-like seafan, whose image is shown in the three pieces above.

Cody Bradon Cufflinks

Sometimes I worry that French cuffs are going to become an artifact of a more graceful age, therefore it's exciting to know that today's young designers still have an interest in cufflinks. Cody Bradon is a new brand started by a couple of friends attending Parsons School of Design in New York, NY. Their mission is to reinvent the classic man with a modern twist. The first, called Shattered will feature Aguilera in the advertisements. The collection includes over 50 styles of rings, cuffs, pendants and earrings that have gemstones such as jade, chalcedony, goldstone, hematite and white agate inlaid into silver in designs that are meant to resemble bits of broken stained glass from Gothic church windows.
