Verona Luxury Shower...mmm...

Filed under: Spas, Yachts & Sailing

Imagine a steam shower that not only delivers bliss and relaxation but aromatherapy, LED lighting, music and an LCD screen for your viewing pleasure... you must be envisioning the Verona by Di Vapor. The hydromassage was enough to sell me on it immediately! For £1795 it can be yours and you can start your New Year on the right foot. Too bad it doesn't come with the vase, teak seat and great shale-colored tile... I would do a bathroom makeover in an instant!

Dream Light Chromatherapy

Wow, I realize it could just be the photography but this shower looks positively dreamy. Which is quite appropriate considering it's called "Dream Light." It's a chromatherapy rain canopy from Jaclo Industries that's designed to take the standard relaxing power of a shower and turn it up a notch with the emotional and soothing power of color. It's made of a stainless steel sheet in round, rectangle, or cube shapes with programmable LED lights that illuminate the water as it falls.

The Tris 3-in-1 Shower Cabin

Wouldn't it be great to have the option of stepping into a steam bath or a sauna whenever you felt the urge? But heading to the spa isn't always convenient, or even desirable if you're not in the mood to leave house, so all too often you're just left wishing.

Well you wouldn't be if you had this Tris Shower Cabin from Ideal Standard. It combines a shower, a sauna, and a steam bath all into one beautiful luxury unit that doesn't take up any more space than a standard bathtub. It has high tech controls blended seamlessly with a warm golden woodgrain design for a luxurious appearance as well as a luxurious experience.

Luxury Venetian Jewelled Vanity Wastes

This just goes to show that anything in your house can be upgraded and used as an opportunity to express your personal style, even the drains in your sink and shower. These Luxury Venetian Jewelled Vanity Wastes can either be the perfect accent of color to an otherwise plain and simple sink or shower, or they can add even more spice to an already bold design. They're available in so many designs and colors from Murano House you're sure to find something you like -- from bright rainbow colors to simple classic Italian time pieces. Who wouldn't want a beautiful drain that also tells you the time while you're taking a shower in the morning?

The Waterfall Shower

There are many nice outdoor showers out there, but this one, the Waterfall Shower by Jane Hamley Wells, is especially appealing to me for some reason. I'm not sure if it's the fact that it gives the feeling of standing under a waterfall in the tropics or the sheer organic simplicity of the design, but I want one. Standing over 7 feet tall, the teak back panel and base platform is accented only by the single cross-style handle. Add in the sheet of cool water cascading down when the shower is in use and I think it's almost pretty enough to just be appreciated as a water feature, whether you use it to clean off and cool down or not.

The 'Cloud Cover' Shower Head

A shower is in many ways defined by its shower head. No matter what else a shower has going on, if the shower head fixture isn't up to par there's just something lacking. But everyone has their own ideas of what a "perfect shower" should be, so this Cloud Cover shower head from Rogerseller may or may not be the perfect thing your current shower is missing.

Measuring 282mm square (or about 11 inches) it installs flush with the ceiling so you'll have no more bulky fixtures sticking out. It sprays fine jets of water while maintaining low water consumption (for the environment!) and the result is a soothing spa-like shower experience.

If you're into invigorating showers with adjustable massaging water jets, then this probably isn't going to appeal to you. But if you want to imagine you're standing under a waterfall in the tropics, then this could be just the thing!

SoundTile Speakers for the Shower

You could go with one of those little waterproof clock radios with a handy hanging hook in your shower and have that wonderful "slightly staticky and not-even-in-stereo" sound to get you pumped up during your morning routine, or you could choose these, SoundTile loudspeakers for the shower.

From Kohler in conjunction with Polk Audio, in addition to being designed to match Kohler's WaterTile bodysprays and showerheads, the SoundTile speakers are coaxial models, marine certified, with stainless steel front grills that let sound through while keeping water out. Pretty nifty.

They are available in pairs, and depending on the finish you choose start at $295.

Roca Aquatec Club 1700

The worst thing about a nice, hot shower on a cold day is that fact that you have to get out at some point. With the Roca Aquatec Club 1700 in your bathroom, you may just lose all motivation to get out and carry on with your day. The ultra posh "hydrotherapy cabin" offers a steam bath, chromotherapy, 10 multi-function jets, a Scottish shower (mixes hot and cold water jets), a waterfall and an FM radio. Everything is controlled using a waterproof electronic control panel and there is even a hands-free phone so you won't miss a call while you're inside. It will cost over $20,000 by the time you have it installed, but take comfort in the jets and the fact that you might spend more time inside it than in any other room.

Viteo Inverted Shower

Traditionally, showers feature water that falls down over the person standing under the showerhead. More than likely, this design has to do with gravity and efficiency. Viteo Outdoors has deemed that to be unnecessary and has designed an Inverted Shower that is activated when a weight steps onto a button at the center of the pad. It shoots water at least four feet into the air. Clearly, it wouldn't be terribly useful for normal showering purposes, even setting aside the fact that it must be used outdoors, but it could be a great way to rinse off chlorine after getting out of a pool or sand from the beach.

And, if you're wondering about the woman with the head of a bunny (or bunny with the body of a woman), so are we. Perhaps its some sort of inside joke on the part of the company's marketing department?

Chiocciola Shower

The spiraling Chiocciola Shower is like a room unto itself, rather making up some small portion of a larger bathroom. The shower has a matte-finish acrylic screen and can be configured for access from the left or the right. Since this design would not look nearly as elegant if positioned up against a wall, consider it for an airy bathroom, preferably one where it can be sort of centrally located and highlighted with skylights. Price: $12,470.

Ondine Krystal*ELS Chrome Showerhead

The Ondine Krystal*ELS Chrome Showerhead is a limited edition bathroom fixture, covered in Swarovski crystals with a gold finish, that combines a showerhead and a light source, giving the user the effect that he or she is showering with light as well as with water. The lights give off the illumination equivalent to a 75-watt light bulb, but an included adjustable color wheel allows the user to control the intensity of that light along with the color. For its part, the showerhead has 270 unique spray channels, contributing to what might very well be the ultimate shower experience.

Aquavision Waterproof TVs

Filed under: Gadgets, Luxury Cars & Autos

Did you ever take a small, portable TV (probably of the variety that always got horrible reception) into the bathroom and set it up on a TV tray so you could watch Seinfeld (or other show) while taking a bath? Don't lie, of course you did. Baths are relaxing, but dull, and having something to watch while you enjoy the water and bubbles makes the experience perfect.

Aquavision TVs are designed to work in the one space where televisions, not to mention most electronic devices, have been traditionally unable to go: places with water. This means that can be used in the bathroom, shower, sauna, kitchen or any other place where they might be in a moist or humid environment.

All Aquavision TVs have heated screen areas to prevent the front misting up in humid conditions or even freezing up in cold conditions, and come with a floating, waterproof remote control. The super-slim units blend seamlessly into the wall and come in a variety of sizes (up to 40") and finishes, including a "mirror-vision" option that turns the screen into a mirror when not in use.

It goes without saying that they offer a significantly better picture than those old portable TVs, too.
