Akkesoir Python Fannie Pack Shoulder Bag

As its name reflects, the Akkesoir Python Fannie Pack Shoulder Bag ($787) combines classic accents with not so current trends. This unusual looking bag is styled in either pink or black python, Akkesoir's small shoulder bag is styled into a fanny pack shape with a jumbled mixed metal shoulder strap. Although very functional, the traditional fanny pack is not the most flattering bag to wear, but by adding a shoulder strap you luckily do not have to endure a bulky bag around your waist. It's difficult to say whether or not Akkesoir's Fanny Pack Shoulder Bag is a wearable and stylish accessory, however, with all of its accents, you certainly take notice.

There's an explosion of haphazardly placed pockets on the Multi Pocket Bag by Charlott Vasberg ($654). When I first came across Vasberg's shoulder bag, it was this unexpected accent which immediately caught my attention.

There are three zippered or snap closure exterior pockets that make it easy for you to grab your smaller essentials while the interior has a large base allowing for a multitude of items to fit comfortably without adding bulkiness. Additionally, there is an adjustable shoulder strap, allowing you to you wear across the body or at your shoulder. Styled in a dark rich chocolate brown napa leather, Vasberg's Multi Pocket Bag would make a versatile and unique fall accessory. Measurements: 14"W x 9"H x 4"D.

The Bottega Veneta Large Lambskin Shoulder Bag is a lovely big blue bag, marvelously executed and fabulously practical.

This roomy, Italian-made shoulder bag is built for comfort. It's made with ultra-light lambskin, which ensures it won't be too heavy even before you fill it, and the knotted shoulder strap is braided with malleable leather, soft against your shoulder and easy on your hand.

The bag is 21½"W X 12½"H X 12"D, lined in pretty grey suede, and has two center compartments, a cell phone pouch and an inside zip pocket. It closes with a magnetic snap at the top. We especially love the signature Intrecciato detail woven down the middle of the bag, and the way it gathers at the bottom. Tote bags have started to get so boring -- and this is just as big, with a lot more character.

I can only imagine the painstaking hours it must have taken to create this gorgeous bag. The chestnut colored leather is ideal for Fall and definitely worth carrying into next Spring & Summer. The flap features a dark metal scaly tail as an unexpected accent while the interior is lined with a satin pouch, preventing any of your items from falling through and features a zippered pouch for smaller items. The copper look is continued onto the handbag's double woven handle with a vibrant metallic hue.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Lamb Shoulder Bag, Handbag of the Day

Marc Jacobs is a phenomenal designer. He pushes the boundaries and sets trends. Sometimes the world is ready for his creations and other times he is waiting for us to catch up with him. I think the latter may be true in the case of his Lamb Shoulder Bag ($495). My initially reaction was "if a gremlin had a fashionable girlfriend, this bag would be it", but what a harsh judgment to make for a designer that I truly respect and admire. So I reserve my criticism and let the readers decide.

It's not as though we haven't seen fur bags before. On the runway, they are sartorial eye candy for the fur enthusiasts while opponents would vigorously disagree (and with good reason). But in the real world day to day living, how realistic can it be to wear a fur bag? However, there are some great qualities to this smoky colored furry shoulder bag. The color scheme is beautiful and gives off a relaxed and soothing feel while the colorful strap adds a little punch of color. It has a wide stripped adjustable canvas shoulder strap making for a sturdy and comfortable carry and with a roomy interior, you can hold many items without creating a bulky effect. And it's all accented with a gold designer stamped plaque.

The Kooba Audrey Shoulder Bag is surely one of our favorite Koobas of all time.

The soft, mauve leather is gracefully gathered into a sunburst, accented with berry-colored suede. The 12 1/2"H x 14"W x 5"D bag is adorned with antiqued gunmetal hardware, 13" drop straps and a magnetic button closure. It's also available in grey or black with complementary suede contrasts.

This is an excellent day-to-night bag, as it's big enough for work but pretty enough for Audrey herself. We'd love to see this color paired with a grey or blue suit, or dangling over the shoulder of someone wearing a pretty floral print dress (preferably with a little mauve in it). It's a deceptively roomy, elegantly flashy shoulder bag just made for a women with upswept hair and a pair of pearl earrings.

The Gucci Leather 1973 Small Shoulder Bag is smart and chic resurrection.

Available in Black or Olive (shown), this little 7"W X 5"H X 2¼"D bag is a perfect companion for shopping, dining or a night on the town. The oval GG logo and chain in goldtone hardware keep it dressy -- don't wear anything too casual with it, or people may think that it's from 1973.

Not that there's anything wrong with 1973 ... Dark Side of the Moon was released, the first cell phone call was made, and "Piano Man" played on the radio in November. Still, when you shell out for a brand new Gucci bag, you don't want it to look like a hand-me-down. Wearing a retro look can be tough to pull off -- this bag is only for the qualified.

With the right outfit and the right attitude? It's divine.
