Prada B.Y.O. Bags, Eco-Chic Goes Luxury

With more and more places asking you to bring your own bags for shopping, luxury brands are getting in on the trend by providing chic ways to tote your goods around. The Prada B.Y.O. Bags are spacious and destructured bags in the traditional Prada fabric embellished with select archive prints. The lightweight (5 ounces) bags are meant to be carried around at all times and can be rolled up and tucked into another bag. They will be available exclusively at Prada boutiques starting this month for $295.

No white after Labor Day? Don't tell that to this marshmallow pouf of a bag. Dior's Le Trente Medium Shopping bag is done in buttery leather with a softly gathered shape. It gets a bit of icy flash from a shiny double chain and leather handles with toggle detail. The bag has a drawstring top with a foldover cuff. It has a a signature CD charm, inside zip pocket and protective metal feet. For rule followers, it's also available in black. This bag sells for $1,950.

The Bottega Veneta Metallic Leather Shopper Bag is a golden solution for those going green.

This slouchy tote is refreshingly simple. The inside has a zipper pocket, but for the most part, this is shaped just like any shopping bag you'd get at one of your favorite stores. The difference? Ruched metallic gold leather, luscious pale suede (!) lining, and leather and chain link straps. Finally, a reusable shopping bag worthy of luxury shoppers -- and luxury purchases.

This bag is large enough for a long day of splurging 8"W X 12"H X 8"D and has metal feet at the bottom, in case you should need to set it down at any point in your spree. We have a feeling we'll see a lot more bags like this next season. Good thinking, Bottega Veneta!

Diane von Furstenburg EXCLUSIVE "Go Green" Canvas Tote, Handbag of the Day

Diane von Fürstenberg designed this hip green shopping bag for retail chain Intermix. It's made of certified organic cotton and features small ivory hearts and long beige cotton handles. The tote has a gold Intermix logo on one corner, and Diane's signature on the other. A hand scrawled message from Diane on the inner seam reads "Save and Love the Planet". I keep seeing similar reusable shopping totes but this one is by far the cutest! Available exclusively at Intermix for $65.
