Designer Shoe Sale at 6pm.com, February 3-9If you say "shoes" and "sale" in the same sentence, I start to feel a little lightheaded with excitement. If you do too, check out 6pm.com's designer shoe sale, starting on February 3 and going through February 9. 6pm is a sister site to our beloved Zappos and offers many styles from Zappos once they move off that site.

Christian Louboutin to Autograph Shoes

Looking for an excuse to go shoe shopping? (Who isn't?) Well the style section of this week's Sunday Times got pretty interesting for shoe lovers come page 7, where a full page spread advertised that designer Christian Louboutin himself would be hanging out at Saks to autograph shoes this Thursday, February 7th.

So if you get an awesome new pair of heels autographed, or maybe an old favorite (will he sign shoes that aren't newly purchased?), will you then wear them and risk ruining it? Maybe it's better to buy two pairs -- one pair just for the signature and the other to actually walk around in.

Michael Jordan's Pricey and Sustainable Sneakers

Filed under: Apparel, Celebrity Shopping, Green

The Air Jordan shoe line has been making history since it was first released back in 1985, and the newest member of the family -- Air Jordan XX3 -- is no exception. The 23rd edition is not only special because of its connection to Jordan's iconic jersey number, but it's also the first design released under the "Considered" ethos -- meaning it's more environmentally friendly. The Air Jordan will now be made with more sustainable materials and will create less waste through the manufacturing the process.

The Air Jordan XX3 will start hitting select stores this month, with a national launch following in the spring. The shoes will be priced at $185.

Pure Gold High Heels

This past weekend a jewelry shop was showcasing a a pair of high heels made of pure gold (up to 680g of it) in Wuhu, Anhui Province. There's very little information available on the shoes, including who designed them (although we do know they're Italian), how much they cost, or if there's more than one pair in existence (and if not, what size is this pair?).

Although they are shiny and unique, I doubt they really expect anybody to wear them any place other than a photo shoot perhaps? I doubt you could even walk in them normally, never mind the fact that the design isn't even that flattering.

Thanks Magie!

These Sergio Rossi Snake Pumps certainly scream all three. Pair with a dark grey or black power suit for an unexpected yet bold touch. Or be causal and sexy with a pair of jeans and a fitted t-shirt. Footprints by Charlotte Tangye

You can't really have too many ways to keep your shoes organized, but unfortunately, many of the shoe organization options out there are not visually appealing. Footprints, by Charlotte Tangye, is an attractive way to keep your shoes in order. The shoe rack is made of powder coated steel and consists of three pairs of footprints that can handle many different shapes, sizes and styles of shoe. The rack is described as being modular, so it seems like it will be possible to connect individual pieces for a larger system, and can be mounted on the wall. It is available in pink, blue and white for $65.

Rare Sneakers for PS3 Fans

Joystiq pointed out a very unusual auction item to us, although with the incredibly high demand for Playstation 3s it is not surprising that there are other products that want to ride its wave. A limited edition pair of PlayStation 3-themed Nike Air Max sneakers is up for auction on the shoe auction site Blue Sole. The shoes feature the PS3 tagline "play beyond" on the insole and have the console's launch date stitched on the back - perfect for commemorating a night spent waiting in line in front of your favorite electronics store. The price is up to $4,010 and the auction ends on December 4th.

Rakku Shoe Wheel

The Rakku Shoe Wheel is a completely new take on shoe storage that minimizes the space needed to fit all your footwear while presenting it in an attractive way. The wheel has a tough polymer frame and clear panels on either side that make sure the shoes stay in place, but allow you to see all your options. The bands around the outside are elastic, so everything can be slid in and out easily. The only question is will the rack still look good if you don't own 20 pairs of rainbow-colored pumps, and if not, would it be worth buying a few pairs to improve the overall presentation? Price: $65.

Miu Miu Baroque Wedges

Miu Miu's Baroque Wedges sit right on the line that separates a good idea from an over-the-top one. Adding some ornamentation to the heel of a wedge sandal is a good idea, since it breaks up the monotony of the otherwise plain space. A design adds something to an overall look, almost like jewelry for your feet. Choosing a heavy baroque carving, however, was not such a good choice. It looks overwhelming on the shoes and they would have to be balanced with a heavy-looking top, not paired with a light dress. Price: $635.

Piperlime

Piperlime is a new online shoe store from Gap, Inc., the same company that owns the Gap, Old Navy and Banana Republic. Based on their current portfolio, you might expect the shoe store to be a bit down market, but actually they offer brands that cover a wide range of designers - including Bettye Muller, Hollywould and Betsey Johnson, among others - in many hot styles, not just safe or middle-of-the-road designs.

They also have celebrity stylist Rachael Zoe as their guest editor, dispensing fashion advice and picking trends at the moment, so even though the new site seems to be experiencing a couple technical blips, it looks like it's going to turn out to be a great source for shoes.

Prada Linea Rossa Suede High-Top

We all know that fashion is cyclic, and despite any variations that are included, the same themes come up over and over. With that in mind, it was just a matter of time before high-tops made a comeback. Prada has the Linea Rossa Suede High-Top for men out this season. The shoe is a classic lace-up, very similar in shape and style to the iconic Converse high-tops, with mesh and sued trim, topped with a velcro closure at the ankle. The main difference between these and Converse would be the red Prada logo on the tongue. Bergdorf Goodman has the shoe in brown ($380) and Neiman Marcus has it in blue ($370).

Birkenstock by Heidi Klum

Birkenstock is not one of the shoe brands that is usually associated with supermodels, but Heidi Klum collaborated with the German company to come up with a surprisingly stylish line of sandals that are also, like all of the designs from the company, orthopedically correct. The collection features silver and gold leather sandals, strappy lace-ups and a number of shoes that bear a strong resemblance to Converse styles from several years ago. Her collection also includes more traditional designs, like the black and white Napa leather sandals ($275) with rivets and crystals pictured here.

Charmoné Shoes

Charmoné shoes promise to be environmentally friendly, people friendly and animal friendly. Stylish and socially conscious? Sounds good to us. The sophisticated shoes are made in Italy made with no animal products, and without relying on sweatshop labor. Most of the shoes are made with a PVC-free microfiber, which looks and feels much like suede. The shoes are also very breathable, unlike most other synthetic fabrics, so they're very comfortable. On top of their high production values, 5% of profits are donated to the Women for Women International charity.

The pictured shoes are the Charmoné Foxglove, which have an updated Mary-Jane look and a hand-painted "wafer" wedge heel, made with microfiber suede and a metallic (faux) leather trim. Price: $295.

[Thanks, Andrew]
