Shades of orange and beige earth tones mix in combinations of shimmering sequins and matte bead embellishments on this rectangular frame bag by Marni. Features include brass hardware, a single dark brown leather handle/shoulder strap, and a push clasp closure on the top. Inside it's lined in brown twill and divided down the middle into three compartments, two large on either side with a smaller clasp-topped pocket in the center. Overall I think this Leather and Silk Embellished Bag is pretty, unique, and has a definite southwest vibe. $1,260

Lin Art Project Shopper, Handbag of the Day

The Lin Art Project Tote ($835) is not for the faint of heart. It's completely unique and unexpected, and goes against the trend of simple silhouettes with minimal adornments. But if you know anything about Lin Besser, designer behind Lin, her tote fits perfectly with her colorful, off-the-wall and quirky aesthetic. Check out her Spring/Summer 2010 collection here.

Made of leather, Lin's tote features a sequined and embroidered character with bright pink and purple bug eyes and three multi-colored teeth. It sort of reminds me of the children's toy – Ugly Dolls. The ones that look so strange that they actually become cute. If someone took the time to decorate an Ugly Doll I have a feeling it would like a lot like Lin's little quirky and scary character.

The interior is spacious and perfect for items that are thin (wallet, magazine, phone, ebook reader, etc). The Lin Art Project Tote is fully lined with a hidden magnetic snap as a closure, and gold accents on the handle. Measurements: 41 cm H x 35 cm W.

Can sequins be casual? Although I don't think they can ever come off as truly laid-back the pretty multi-colored sequins on this Large Single Sequined Bag by Marc Jacobs do pair well with daytime separates and do a nice job of upgrading neutral separates and bringing a bit of subtle sparkle to afternoon errands and appointments. The bag features a textured leather fold-over flap front with lock closure, two internal compartments including one with a zip-top closure, an intertwined chain and leather shoulder strap, and an interior lined in black satin with one internal zip pocket. $995

RVCA x Erin Wasson Jean Shorts

Jeans shorts are a definite summer staple. And how could they not be? They're undeniably comfortable, versatile and everyone wears them regardless of age. Worn at the knees, super short, or any length in between with a multitude of washes to choose from, frayed or folded, you can pair jeans shorts with the dressiest of tops or go ultra casual with a cotton tank top and you look great. RVCA and model & jewelry designer Erin Wasson collaborated on a pair of jean shorts called the Chain Gang that caught my attention for two reasons. First, I love the creativity behind them. Of all the decorative accents that are available, I never thought of embellishing jean shorts with metal chain mail. Whether you like them or not, they are certainly unique. Second, the price. At an unexpected $300, you can purchase your very own. Coming from the days where you would transform a pair of old jeans by just cutting them up, the price seems a bit steep. But for those who want to splurge on a unique pair of jean shorts that you are not likely to find on many people, these would be perfect.

I'm not sure I know too many occasions where a gold sequined mini dress would be ideal, unless you are Beyonce, but that doesn't discourage me from wanting Burberry's Mini Sequin Dress ($4495) anyway. It features a round neck, short sleeves and a front zipper as decoration. The working zipper is actually in the back. Since this dress is completely decorated in metallic gold sequins and is a bold statement in of itself, there is no need for jewelry or overly embellished heels - this will only serve as a distraction to your shimmering gold masterpiece of dress. Pair with understated stilettos, a sleek ponytail and light yet glowing makeup and viola - you are a rockstar.

Ashish Sequined Dress

I never thought I would actually like long sleeved mini dresses. It almost seems like an oxymoron. Kind of like sleeveless turtlenecks that were popular years ago. Needless to say, long sleeved mini dresses have won me over. Especially after seeing actresses like Demi Moore, Emma Roberts and my personal favorite Zoe Saldana, wear mini dresses that were so well executed with very minimal accessories. In each case the dress was the major focus. And the same can be said for the Sequined Silk Mini Dress by Ashish. It's an instant show stopper. It has an incredible sparkle and deep v-neck cut in the back that provides something to grab your attention no matter your view. Price: $895.

I think this Embroidered Sequined Clutch by Stella McCartney looks more suited for autumn or late summer but I love it nonetheless, and think it's probably just the 3 feet of snow outside putting limits on my fashion sense. Made of brown canvas (so refreshing to take a break from leather) it's covered in sequins in a pretty multi-colored floral pattern. It has a wallet-like feel when it opens up, revealing slots for your credits cards and ID and cash separate from the main compartment with a clasp-top closure. Goldtone hardware, chain wrist strap, and golden faux-leather lining. $1.025

Marc Jacobs Sequined New York Rocker Stam Bag, Handbag of the Day

The Marc Jacobs Sequined New York Rocker Stam Bag is so rocker-chic I almost don't know what to say.

Sure to be a huge hit amongst the wealthy clubbing set, this bag adds a reckless brashness to the usual Marc Jacobs elegance while still seething with the scent of expensiveness. The liquid-like appearance of the dazzling blue paillettes is the perfect compliment for almost any material, and though you have to look closely, it's actually framed lovingly in suede. The black leather and goldtone chain link hardware complete this "It" bag picture.

With all the metallic jewel tone and sequined clothing out for this same demographic, pretty soon, we won't be able to look directly at the girls in nightclubs anymore.

Miu Miu Pailette Covered Clutch, Handbag of the Day

It's not quite gold, but it's not quite silver either, so I guess this Pailette Covered Clutch by Miu Miu will coordinate equally well with both. Details include the all-over pailette blending from silver to bronze, a happy pink lining, and a long zip closure along the top ending in a wristlet-style loop handle with a little dangling heart charm. I especially like this clutch it because it looks easy to use during different seasons -- in the spring play up the pink and in the fall accentuate the bronze/gold tones. $420

Blumarine Sequins Bowling Bag, Handbag of the Day

Is this bag fabulous, or is it too over-the top? Something about it gives me the impression that we would be seeing it on the arm of Carrie Bradshaw if Sex and the City was still on the air. The Blumarine Bowling Bag is almost completely covered in shimmering black sequins and, where it isn't, it is trimmed in leather and velvet. The extra-soft leather makes for a very comfortable pair of top handles, which are accented not only with polished silver hardware, but with a crystal-encrusted "B" logo charm. There are also crystal accents on the bag's top flap closure. Looking inside, the bag has a satin textile lining with several pockets in which to stow your non-sparkling gear, such as a wallet, cellphone and car keys, where they won't detract from the bag's outward sheen. It measures 14" x 10.5" x 4", with metal feet to protect the bottom of the tote. Price: $2,015.
