Priciest Golfing in the Hamptons
The newly opened Sebonack Golf Club in the Hamptons boasts one of the highest membership fees - if not the highest - in the world. Full membership costs $650,000 and includes the use of one of the fifteen 4-bedroom houses ("cottages") that line the course. Membership that includes golf only is $500,000. These are all the join-up fees, of course, and do not include the $12,000 annual dues.
The 18-hole course is 7,286-yards long and was designed by Jack Nicklaus and Tom Doak working together, combining their styles for visually spectacular and natural design to create a course that would challenge even the best golfers. This is an important feature for the Sebonack course, since their target market is serious golfers who happen to vacation in the Hamptons, not for "jet-setters" who happen to golf.
