Mayflower Inn To Open A New Spa

The Mayflower Inn, a five-star getaway in  Washington, Connecticut is opening a new spa in May. The posh 20,000-square-foot facility includes a Pilates studio, yoga garden, steam rooms, thermal sanctuary and an indoor pool. Treatments include mud wraps, scrubs, massages and soul-reviving rituals such as the Japan ritual which includes being  purified with yuzu mimosa sea algae, scrubbed with ohana ginger grass, polished with cherry blossom rice, and hydrated with rose, camellia and plum followed by a shiatsu massage using kinmoxei wild lime silk oil. Upcoming specialty programs include weeks for triathletes, couples, yoga enthusiasts and aspiring memoir writers. Spa weekend packages cost $1,850 to $2,310.

Köl Bath Products

One of the items that ended up in the Oscar baskets for presenters and nominees are from Köl, a body and bath line of salts, soaps and scrubs that are non gender specific and packaged in a simple minimalist manner. The company offers four bath lines: Curacao, Picnic, Bethlehem and El Maroc. They also have a line of mix-your-own facials and scrubs which come in travel-friendly metal tubes and use exotic clays, pumice and herbs to pamper your skin. The Oscar basket included the El Maroc candle which has scents of clove, leather and citrus.
