Bugatti Preparing 3 New Concepts to Replace the Veyron

The Bugatti Veyron is a tough act to follow. It packs over 1000 horsepower, can hit speeds in excess of 250 miles per hour and costs over a million euros. The trouble is, with 250 out of 300 already built and no more special editions on the way, the Veyron is reaching the end of its production cycle. That means the top-shelf Volkswagen subsidiary has got to make a new model, and to make sure it gets it right, reports indicate that the company will display three individual new concept cars to gauge public opinion in order to determine what form it should take.

One of the concepts is dubbed Bordeaux, a four-door ultra-luxury high-performance sedan, expected to debut in the near future as the company rounds out its centenary celebrations. What the other two are, however, remains to be seen. Some speculate on a two-door GT or an evolution of the Veyron formula. In any event, the Veyron's successor will most likely carry its 8-liter quadruple-turbocharged sixteen-cylinder engine, which cost the company big bucks to develop and would be a shame to waste at the end of the Veyron's run. Beyond that, your guess is as good as ours. But you can bet it'll be expensive, exclusive and very fast indeed.

Breguet Marine Royale Alarm Watch

This is probably the most aggressively styled Breguet Marine Royale watch to date, and is known as the Marine Royale Alarm for 2009. In addition to bold looks, this is the first Breguet watch in my opinion that could be characterized as a highly functional diver's watch. The main draw of the watch, aside from the lovely design and Breguet heritage, is the alarm complication. The mechanical alarm is specially designed to be optimally heard underwater - a difficult task for alarm watches. This is all done thanks to the Breguet. Cal. 519R automatic movement that uses a central hand to set the alarm - which itself has a specially calibrated chime. A window in the upper center of the dial tells you if the alarm is turned on or not. Other complications include a power reserve indicator, date, and the time of course. The large pusher located at 8 o'clock is used to turn the alarm on and off.

With a great deal of guilloche decoration throughout the watch, the 45mm wide 18k rose gold case has pushers applied with rubber for easier handling. A special claw between the crowns can be used to secure the rotating diver's bezel if necessary as to not accidentally move it. Aside from all of these handy features, the Breguet Ref. 5847BR/32/5ZU is a very capable diver with 300 meters of water resistance. In addition to the rose gold case, a white gold version is available with a dark gray colored dial. If you aren't keen on spending luxury prices for a watch with a rubber strap, you can opt for the alligator band.

With its iconic wave patterned decoration and mixture of Breguet class with diving utility, this new Marine Royale Alarm watch is easily the most interesting and notable sport oriented Breguet watch of the last few years. Price will likely be $30,000 - $50,000 when it is available soon.

The Diamond-Studded Master Card

Here at Luxist we cover all kinds of things studded with diamonds but this just might be a first for us: a diamond-studded credit card.

The Dubai First Royale MasterCard will be available only in Dubai (darnit!) and by invitation only to even further limit its distribution. Those who are lucky enough to get one of these cards will enjoy not so surprising features like unlimited credit, special deals, and access to VIP benefits at companies around the world, but perhaps most noteworthy is what the actual credit card looks like. It's black with a gold metal border and it features a crest in the center with a real diamond embedded in the middle.

No word on just how big the diamond is (or what the actual value of the card itself is) but that's one card I would be taking very careful care of.
