Frette Sophia Collection

Luxury sheet maker Frette's new Sophia line is a holiday fantasy. The years designer duvet set also comes with the chance to outfit yourself in luxury as well with a red velvet robe and a pair of slippers. The Sophia line was inspired by ancient brocades and damasks used by royal dynasties across Europe. Garnet-colored silk is interwoven with natural linen to create a surprisingly modern jacquard. The duvet set includes a cover and two rectangular shams in an ornate pattern and two striped square shams and boudoirs. The line takes its name from Queen Sophia of Bourbon, the last queen of a Spanish dynasty to rule on Italian soil. Each robe comes with a 24-carat gold numbered plaque for the engraved name or initials of the owner.

Little Luxuries for Dorms

Dorm rooms, even the nicest ones, are not luxury accommodations by any stretch of the imagination. If you fill them with luxury furniture, install some wall panels and have all the latest gadgets, it's a good start. Unfortunately, this isn't really an option for most college students. Forbes has put together a guide to some affordable luxuries that are appropriate for a dorm room. The music-lover (or the heavy sleeper) can try the Portable iPod Travel Alarm Clock ($99) and a gadget-loving student might enjoy a miniature drink vending machine ($150), with a built in refrigeration system. And, to make the communal bathroom experience a little more bearable, try a monogrammed Horchow robe ($190).

Jessica Loses Everything But Her Bag

Judging from the photo on Hollywood Tuna, pictured here, Jessica Simpson appears to have managed to lose her clothes. Either that, or bathrobes are more in vogue as evening wear than we realized. You will notice, however, that she still has her bag. It's a Speedy 30 bag by Louis Vuitton. It's not the newer, pink-lined bag designed for the label by Marc Jacobs, but the classic keep-all. Proving its versatility, the bag even manages to look reasonably good with a bathrobe. The same versatility shows that the bag is completely unforgettable, otherwise Jessica surely would have lost the bag before her shirt. Price: $585.
