Rhumbar Set To Open At The Mirage

The Las Vegas Art Museum may be closing but there is always room for a new bar in Sin City. The Mirage on the Las Vegas Strip is quietly opening a new cigar and rum bar next month. Rhumbar is located in the old Siegfried & Roy's Secret Garden gift shop and takes up 2,000 square feet of space. The bar is modeled after the popular rum cocktail, the mojito, with a casual vibe and a white and green color scheme. Behind the bar there are 40 featured rums. Also above the bar and overhead are glass boxes holding chrome, featherless fighting cocks.
In a slate alcove you'll find massive cigar case/humidor holding 40 cigar brands. One of the co-owners. Michael Frey is also the owner of FreyBoy Tobacco and Casa Fuente Cigars at Caesars and co-owner of Montecristo Rum. Rhumbar will open at 10 a.m. and the patio has a view of the recently updated Mirage volcano. The bar's list of specialty rum cocktails includes a Latin Manhattan, 1944 Mai Tai, Samba Swizzle and of course daiquiris and mojitos will be served. Las Vegas Weekly has pictures of the bar interior.
