Barry Kord Debuts New Jewelry Line On QVC This Weekend

Designer Barry Cord is taking his designs to QVC again . The designer behind Kisselstein-Cord whose designs can be found everywhere from the collections of world leaders such as Vladimir Putin, celebrated art museums including The Metropolitan and The Louvre, and business and entertainment icons from Oprah Winfrey to Madonna will debut a new collection during QVC's Sterling Designer Gallery Event on Sunday, January 9 at 6 PM. The jewelry collection in sterling silver and sterling with 14K gold accents is part of 25-hour silver jewelry event, which will kick off at 11 PM (ET) on Saturday, January 8. The event will feature collections from Michael Dawkins, Robert Lee Morris, Judith Ripka and many more. Highlights include a signed limited edition Michael Dawkins Sterling Petal Cuff and the introduction of black diamond pieces from Dweck Diamonds, a line of diamond jewelry by acclaimed designer Stephen Dweck.

The Barry Cord Collections will range in price from approximately $65 to 400 and will be available through QVC beginning January 9. The pieces shown above include the Barry Cord Sterling Swan Enhancer for approximately $141, Barry Cord Sterling Leather Bracelet with Toad Charm for approximately $147.50, a Barry Cord Sterling Cat Tail Chain for approximately $108 and Barry Cord Sterling & 14K Gold Intaglio Bee Earrings for proximately $354.27. Cord has had a line on QVC before which was well-received by the shopping channel's jewelry-loving fanbase.

A Sneak Peek of Bombay Company's New QVC Line

Last month I mentioned the return of once ubiquitous home decor seller The Bombay Company. The company is debuting a collection on QVC Thursday, September 30 at 10am and we've got a sneak peek. The line features 14 pieces that range in price from approximately $29 to $180 including the return of some of favorites, like my old friend, James the Butler, shown above. A Look At The Smithsonian Collection on QVC

Earlier this year we mentioned the announcement that the Smithsonian Institution, the world's largest museum and research complex, had entered into a licensing agreement with QVC to sell a jewelry collection. The pieces are now being revealed and they are simply gorgeous. The designs range from delicate to dramatic and include earrings, rings and bracelets. Pieces were inspired both by specific jewelry pieces at the Smithsonian as well as by the large gemstone and mineral specimens at the gallery. The highly anticipated jewelry collection, The Smithsonian Institution – National Gem Gallery, is scheduled to debut Tuesday, September 14 at 7 PM (ET). Pieces will be available on QVC.com.

One of the most striking pieces is the Judith Ripka Sterling Blue Topaz & 4/10 ct tw Diamond Ring. The ring will sell for approximately $538.06. The ring was created in celebration of the100th Anniversary of both the National Museum of Natural History and the Smithsonian's own Blue Heart Diamond.

K-DASH by Kardashian for QVC

Unless you never turn on the TV or read a fashion or gossip magazine, you cannot escape the Kardashian women and their style. And on September 10 (Fashion's Night Out), siblings Kourtney, Kim, and Khloé will launch the K-DASH by Kardashian clothing and accessories line exclusively for QVC. I couldn't find anything on the QVC site, but Kourtney and Kim both have sneak peeks of some clothing items on their blogs. The sisters are scheduled to be on QVC the night of the launch, live from Rockefeller Center on September 10 at 9 p.m. EST. The three also have a fashion line for Bebe and a skin-care line called PerfectSkin.

The Return of Bombay Company

The formerly ubiquitous Bombay Company is set for a resurgence. The brand, which was once in malls across the U.S. with a total of 450 stores, will debut a new full collection this fall. According to Home Accents Today, the 250-piece collection will include home decor, gifts and furniture that will pull together both best-selling archival pieces and fresh designs.

The brand has a new penthouse showroom at 489 Fifth Avenue in New York City and will debut a collection during a one-hour show on QVC on September 30. That show will feature 14 home decor and accent pieces ranging in price from $29 to $180.

The full collection includes the Art Nouveau D'Orsay table collection, Asian Garden dinnerware, Montebello reverse-painted mirror and other travel-inspired pieces. Prices start as low as $7 with furniture selling for up to $1,500.

Priscilla Presley, Shoshanna Gruss Head To QVC

Two more celebrities will be debuting jewelry lines on QVC. The home shopping network will be featuring lines by Shoshanna Gruss and Priscilla Presley, two names whose claim to fame began with who they were involved with. Shoshanna Gruss (nee Lonstein), now a popular fashion designer, first came to media attention as the very young girlfriend of Jerry Seinfield years ago. She's launching her Shoshanna's Fashion Jewelry Essentials collection, a collaboration with another QVC-er Judith Ripka. The costume jewelry line includes crystal heavy pieces like dangling drop earrings and sells from $20 to $80. Her line will debut August 10 at 9 a.m. EDT.

Priscilla Presley's line is the Priscilla Presley Collection, a line of bracelets, necklaces, earrings, rings that is said to have a rock and roll edge. Presley, who was first famous for being Elvis Presley's wife and later an actress and author will be offering fashion jewelry pieces that will sell from about $35 to $170. Her line will debut August 9 at 9 a.m. EDT.

Model Christie Brinkley and television host Cat Deeley also have lines on QVC.

Christie Brinkley's Jewelry Line on QVC

Christie Brinkley debuted her jewelry line with QVC over the weekend. Brinkley's new line was inspired by her Hamptons lifestyle, she buys and sells homes in the popular New York vacation destination. We've profiled several of her beautiful homes recently and her jewelry picks up the same soft, muted blues and greens that are often in her decor. The Christie Brinkley Jewelry Collection is done in sterling silver and includes bracelets, cocktail rings and dangle earrings with quartz, sapphires, topaz, agate and other gemstones. At the lower end of the line a woven leather bracelet with a silver clasp is $45. At the high-end a bracelet, shown at right, is set with gemstone cabochons of blue lace agate, moonstone, peridot, blue topaz, aquamarine and amazonite sells for $393. "This line is a celebration of all the things I love." said Brinkley in a press release.

Other famous QVC-ers include television host Cat Deeley, Melania Trump and the Smithsonian Institute.

Cat Deeley Sells Jewelry On QVC

"So You Think You Can Dance" host Cat Deeley becomes the latest to join the selling crowds at QVC, showing up on the channel to promote her jewelry. Deeley has created a new line called Cat Deeley Modern Vintage which is now on the QVC website. The pieces range in price from $39 to $200. The designs were influenced by vintage finds from all over the world and include chandelier earrings, multi-strand necklaces and crystal-covered link bracelets.

Other celebs with a QVC line include Donald Trump's wife Melania, Joan Rivers, Marie Osmond and in the home and garden category, Rachael Ray and Paula Deen.

Wisconsin Jeweler Helps Man Unload Wife's QVC Haul

A unique combination of estate and rummage sale is taking place in Wisconsin this weekend. A man who recently lost his wife found that unbeknown to him she had bought hundreds of pieces of jewelry from QVC's shopping channel. Facing debts after her death the man has partnered with Paul's Jewelry in West Allis, Wis. to sell the jewelry. The sale takes place through Saturday afternoon. Pieces range from fine to fashion, many set with semiprecious stones. The store's website promises that all proceeds go directly to offset the family's debt and promises serious deals. Pieces that sold for $50 to $300 will be available at the store for $5 to $25. Often these types of sales are handled privately but the added publicity may help call attention both to the sale and the perils of over-enthusiastic home shopping.

Melania Trump To Debut Jewelry Line On QVC

Part of being a Trump it seems is having a few side businesses. Following on the heels of Donald Trump's daughter Ivanka and ex-wife Ivana, Melania Trump is the latest to have a jewelry line. The former model is launching her own line of costume jewelry, "Melania Timepieces and Fashion Jewelry" with QVC. National Jeweler reports that pieces will retail from $30 to $200 and will first air on QVC on April 30 at 9 p.m.

It's a far cry from Ivanka's pricey diamonds but Melania said in a press release that she is proud to debut her "collection of premium, affordable timepieces and jewelry and make it available to millions of women across the country. " Watches in the collection are inspired by streets in her three favorite cities: New York, Paris and Palm Beach. The idea is that those who watch QVC might aspire to Melania's life as the wife of a wealthy jetsetter and can grab their own little luxury. The news follows the recent QVC announcement that it was partnering with the Smithsonian Institution on a line of jewelry based on pieces in the Smithsonian collection.

Smithsonian To Sell Jewelry On QVC

Everyone from Ivana Trump to Joan Rivers has sold jewelry on QVC but the latest QVC partnership is a bit of a surprise. The Smithsonian Institution, the world's largest museum and research complex, has entered into a licensing agreement with QVC offer a jewelry collection based on objects in the National Gem and Mineral Collection (part of the National Museum of Natural History). This is where you see beauties like the Hope Diamond, the Carmen Lucia ruby, Marie Antoinette's diamond earrings and the Tiffany amethyst shown above.

No images of the planned collection for sale have been released but Carol LeBlanc, director of consumer products for Smithsonian Enterprises said that they will "create jewelry that is not only fashionable, but also serves to educate the public about the Smithsonian and the jewelry, gems and minerals found in its collections." The line will include earrings, rings, bracelets, pins and brooches some of which will be replicas of pieces in the museum's collection. This is the Smithsonian's first foray into making a high-quality jewelry based on the museum's collection. The collection is scheduled to launch this fall.

Cartier Sues QVC Over Joan Rivers Watches

Luxury jeweler Cartier is taking on home shopping giant QVC Inc. Cartier has sued QVC alleging that the company has promoted and sold watches that look a little too much like Cartier's Santos and Pasha Grille watches. Some of the watches are part of the Joan Rivers jewelry collection. The brand is also suing QVC's business partners JMAM and TWI Watches which produced the designs. Cartier has called for all infringing goods to be destroyed and is asking for all profits from past sales of the items in question.

Cartier has often taken a hard line against any watches that bear any resemblance to Cartier pieces. It sued Amazon and Geneve Gold for selling knockoffs of the Tank Francaise, Tank Americaine and Panthere watches through Amazon.com and genevegold.com. Last year Cartier sued Donna Karan for marketing timepieces with the word "Tank," which Cartier says it has copyrighted It has also gone after sellers on eBay and other auction sites for selling counterfeits.

Paula Abdul Launches Jewelry Line

Adjab reported that Paula Abdul is launching her own jewelry line. While her website still says that the details are coming soon, the line will be introduced on April 21 on two 1-hour segments on QVC. Paula will be on the program promoting her wares, unlike some celebrities. Paula says that the jewelry will be adorned with "inspirational words and symbols." Prices will range from $20-$90.
