Maserati Preparing Pair of New Quattroportes

Filed under: Luxury Cars & Autos

Had your eye on a new Maserati Quattroporte, but couldn't stomach the $120,000 price of entry? We've got some good news for you. As part of the comprehensive five-year plan announced by Maserati's parent Fiat Group, the exotic Italian automaker is set to debut not one, but two new four-door models.

One will be a straight-up successor to the current Quattroporte, slotting in about the same price and size range. The second, however, will be positioned below the existing sport-sedan range, targeting the likes of the BMW M5 and Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG with an approximately $75,000 starting price. Few further details are available at this point, but expect to hear more about this model as its introduction approaches.

Maserati to Celebrate in Geneva with Special Quattroporte Awards Edition

The Maserati Quattroporte has accrued a number of awards over the past several years, and with good reason. The four-door Italian exotic is, to our eyes at least, a stylish and exciting alternative to the usual crop of German and Japanese luxury sedans. So to celebrate the Quattroporte's laudable success, Maserati is preparing to unveil the special Awards Edition at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show.

Based on the top-of-the-line Quattrporte Sport GT S, the Awards Edition gets an exclusive Quarzo Fuso paint job with burnished brightwork, 20-inch wheels and upgraded Brembo brakes. The interior, meanwhile, bears glove-soft Poltrona Frau leather sears and Alcantara microsuede trim, piano black wood veneers and a number of other special touches.

Stretched Maserati Quattroporte Limousine for Hire in Florida

Filed under: Luxury Cars & Autos

Stretching a stock automobile into a limousine is a precarious venture. So while Mercedes-Benz can take its own E-Class sedan, as it's preparing to do, and turn it into a stretched limo to assuredly polished effect, when others try to do the same, more often than not, the modified vehicle turns out a complete abomination of the original. Take for example this stretched Maserati Quattroporte. Currently under the proprietorship of Florida's Padilla Car Collection, this Italian luxury sports sedan has been lengthened considerably to accommodate ten passengers in high style, but in effect the original's sumptuous lines have been lost along the way. Say what you will about stretched Hummers – which Padilla has in stock, too – but at least their form carries the extension well.

Look! A baby Quattroporte!

Man, look at the beautiful ass end on this thing. Those tail lights aren't for everyone, but I think they're stunning. The Quattroporte is the new "it" car around my neighborhood, maybe the new Granturismo will overtake the 6 series much like its big brother put an end to the CLS's reign. And the specs are as superb as the looks: near 50/50 weight distribution, 400hp V8, the works. Also check out the coverage on our sister site, Autoblog (orginal here).
