But they do. And it's this wild color palette that makes Olympia's vibrantly hued heels such show stoppers. The Lais Pumps feature piping along the trim, small cutouts on either side and a 1 1/4" platform.

Reed Krakoff Python Pumps

Reed Krakoff Python Pumps
Krakoff's Python Pumps ($725) are both conservative and deceptively sexy. The minimally styled d'Orsay pump says classic and wearable while a matted python finish expresses a stylish edge. Available in black and flax (off white), both colors would look incredibly chic with a perfectly fitting suit for the office or bring out your vampy seductive side with a waist cinching 50s style dress that falls right below the knee. Either way, Krakoff's Python Heels will make any outfit unforgettable. Heel measurement: 4 inches.

Alberto Guardiani's $400 Lipstick

Would you pay $400 for lipstick? Probably not. How about $400 for lipstick that you wear – on your feet? Maybe. Italian shoe designer Alberto Guardiani has merged two of fashion's sexiest accessories – red lipstick and black high heels to create his Lipstick Heels. Guardiani's show stopping heels will certainly inject an unexpected twist to your outfit given their quirky and unique heel. While you may not get much bang for your buck - how often can you realistically wear lipstick heels? - they would be fun to wear and serve as a total conversation starter.

Nina Ricci Floral Pumps

Nina Ricci's Mary Jane Pumps ($780) have a flirty but refined feel. Its 4 1/2" inch heel and platform sole exude instant sex appeal while a decorative flower along the vamp has the odd combination of being girlish yet elegant.

Featured in grey (which looks more like navy blue) and wine suede, the monochromatic design is the perfect backdrop to enhance the power of simple decorative touches like a fabric floral accent and subtleties like the burnt orange outline and black outline above the platform. Ricci's flowery Mary Jane's would be a perfect complement to your holiday party dress.

Kurt Geiger Egypt Scarlet Pumps

You can never go wrong with a pair of scarlet pumps. Especially ones like the Egypt by Kurt Geiger ($300). They have an understated and relaxed silhouette with touches of lively accents that make Geiger's Egypt Pumps a timeless classic. First off, the color is vibrant without feeling off putting. This particular hue has dark undertones making them wearable and versatile. Second is the heel. A block heel not only provides stability and a more comfortable foundation when walking but they are just as stylish as skinny stilettos.

I love that they are designed in red suede rather than red leather. There is something unexplainable about suede that complements red even more so than leather. Heel measurements: 4".

KG by Kurt Geiger Jasmine Heels Sparkle Bright

Can any woman resist the magnetic pull of a shiny and sparkly object? Probably not. Especially if it's jewelry or shoes. I know that I can't. I came across KG by Kurt Geiger's gold shimmering pumps ($157) and fell in love. The Jasmine is in no way practical and will most likely be worn sparingly to maintain its glowing impact but they sure are gorgeous.

The golden beauties would look incredible with a short black shift dress or paired with a stylish yet casual ensemble of slim jeans, loose cotton shirt, blazer topped off with a colorful scarf. The Jasmine is ultra feminine and feature an over-sized bow at the toe box for maximum girly effect and have a 4 inch heel. Also available in black and red.

Jimmy Choo Aliya Heels

We are lusting over Jimmy Choo's Aliya nude pumps. While they are conservative compared to some of the outrageous eye candy shoes we've featured in the past – you just can't beat a pair of stylish heels that women can actually wear in their day to day life. The Aliya ($645) has a perforated detail throughout, creating a playful touch to a shoe that you may otherwise overlook. They also feature a double silver buckle right above the toe. These would be ideal for practically any occasion – work, play, special events. And with a reasonably sized heel (just over 3 inches), you could actually wear them for the day without being in agonizing pain.

Nicole Brundage Calf Wrap Ankle Pumps

Shoe shopping is an addicting habit. There are sandals for the summer, boots for the fall, heels for work and heels for a night out on the town. Each shoe can serve a particular purpose and match an appropriate occasion. If you find yourself buying too many shoes for a particular season or occasion, try searching for shoes that can carry you from one season to the next. It sounds like a no brainer, but it can be hard to resist all the gorgeous specialty shoes that seem to call our name whenever we walk buy a store display window, look through a magazine, or surf the web.

That's why we couldn't help but feature Nicole Brudage Ankle Pumps ($734). It's the perfect transitional and almost seasonless shoe. They completely work for the Summer given its cut out and vampy leather wrap around your ankle. And for the Fall, you could still wear a dress and skirt with tights or pair with straight and wide leg trousers. Brudage's Ankle Pumps are in a warm chestnut brown color which is versatile enough to compliment all of your outfits. Heel measurements: 4 inches.

Maison Martin Margiela Wood Print Pumps

The designers behind Maison Martin Margiela are experts in creating looks that are completely unexpected and far from trendy. Even their website throws you off as it looks more like a page out of a computer programming code book than the flash obsessed luxury website many of us are use to.

I recently came across Margiela's Patent Wood Print Pumps ($950) and could not take my eyes off of them. It's shape is reminiscent of a traditional Dutch wooden clog while it's patent leather dark wood print is a unique and off-the-wall playful touch. They feature a small side zipper and 4 inch heel. Since these statement shoes posses so much character, pair with an understated outfit and add some funky jewels and a handbag for a complete wow outfit.

Kron by KronKron Ruffle Booties

It's a treat to find shoes that are unique and comfortable. Kron by KronKron definitely fits the bill. Store owners and design couple, Hugrún Árnadóttir and Magni Þorsteinsso, head up the Iceland based company KronKron. They're known to create offbeat and playful shoes by combining colors and textures that many may stray away from, but in the few years that they have been in the shoe business, this quality has set them apart from the rest.

Although we've featured one of their understated pairs, these are just as beautiful as and probably more wearable than its colorful counterparts. Made of suede and leather and minimally accented with ruffles all along the vamp and circling around to the back, I especially liked the unexpected dose of beige at the toe. It features a cone heel and a front zippered pull tassel. You could wear them paired with a summer dress for evenings out and it's versatile enough to carry you into autumn with well tailored pants, a great fitting blouse, and a scarf. Originally selling for $480, they are on sale at Kisan Concept Store for only $240.

DSQUARED2 Love Boat Pumps

love boat pumpsIf you love the comfort and classic styling of boat shoes but have always wanted a more feminine touch, then the Love Boat Pumps ($695) are perfect. The shoes designers behind DSQUARED2 have kept the most noticeable design elements of boat shoes by keeping the leather strap along the side but then incorporating a flirty bow at the vamp. Of course, we can't forget about the lug sole that are normally seen on boat shoes for durability and traction, but luckily, even a lug sole doesn't take away from the Love Boat's lady like appeal. Throw in all-American preppy plaid for unexpected dose of color and 5" inch heels for some sexiness, and you have one hot looking boat shoe.

Omelle Estella Apron Pumps

apron pumps
The Omelle's Estella Apron Pumps ($284) are pretty unique looking for a shoe with a muted color and very minimal accents. The designers have combined elements of a boot, pumps and sandals to create a pair of shoes that forces you to look at it from all angles. If you quickly look at the Estella Apron Pumps from the front, you could mistakenly think there is a back to them as though they were a pair of open toed booties. But then from the side, it looks more like a pump with a very tall vamp. If you view from the back you're able to see an ankle strap which is usually seen with sandals. Needless to say, this shoe has many unexpected qualities to it. One of my favorite qualities is the deep chocolate brown cone heel. It's slightly angled in with a small darkened silver metal inset. As an added bonus, with your purchase you receive a pair of honeycomb knit stirrup socks that you can wear with your new shoes.

Rock & Republic Lotus Pumps

Talk about a dose of unexpected color to make a shoe unforgettable. The Lotus Platform by Rock & Republic ($295), who unfortunately had to file for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy protection, looks understated upon first glance even with its high heels and ultra pointy toe. However, once you view the back, you get a burst of sunshine yellow and chains laced throughout. Measuring at a staggering 5 inches, the Lotus will certainly offer you height and make your legs look sexier than they ever have before. Wear these with anything because everyone will be looking at your shoes and how well you can walk in 5 inch heels.
