Christian Louboutin, maker of the most fabulous shoes available, brings you these stunning Fontanete Platform Pumps. They're available in eye catching fuchsia (my fave) or demure taupe for a more subtle approach. Yes the Summer is escaping us and Fall is here - or at least on a part time basis - but that doesn't mean we should say goodbye to our peep toe beauties. Incorporate them into your Fall wardrobe by wearing opaque tights. Or if the weather is manageable then skip the tights all together. Loeffler Randall's Pumps are refreshingly sweet and charming with its ruffle detailing. At 2 1/2" the suede covered heel is enough to provide height without adding stress to the balls of your feet. This could actually be a comfortable walking shoe if you are not able to change into flats during your lunch break. Wear casually with jeans or with a dress or skirt for dressier occasions - either way, it will add a splash of color and liven up any outfit. Seen here in an emerald suede, it is also available in black and taupe leather. Price: $375.Betsey Johnson Jordan Shoes
This has to be one of the more low-key designs by the notorious and outrageous Betsey Johnson. With the exception that they have a texture cork body, they are actually pretty normal looking shoes. Shoes that you could actually wear to work or for going out. The Jordan Pumps feature an open round toe with 4" heels and a light padding for a hint of comfort. I especially like the three leather strips running across the vamp. Overall, these pumps are funky, unique and with unusual accents and materials that are toned down, these pumps are very wearable. Price: $190.Tara Subkoff Easy Spirit Suede Pumps
Even when we first heard that designer Tara Subkoff was teaming up with Easy Spirit to inject some trendiness into a brand long known for putting comfort ahead of everything else, we had our reservations. It sounded promising, but would the shoes stack up to other designer footwear? It appears that they do. These Suede Pumps are as fashion forward as any other pumps in stores this season, with the added bonus that they're still very comfortable. The platform heels are 4 3/4-in. high, including a 1 1/2-in. platform, and are covered in soft suede. They are available in red, grey or black. Price $430.
Well-Heeled with Easy Spirits
Remember when Easy Spirit first used the tag line, "Looks like a pump, feels like a sneaker?" A more accurate description, of course, was "Looks like an orthopedic shoe, feels like sneaker."But Easy Spirit is now eying a higher-end, younger market. By enlisting the design talents of Tara Subkoff, which fashion followers will know from the L.A.-based line Imitation of Christ. Subkoff's designs are smart, modern, feminine and sexy.
My favorite? The Pallendro.
Gone are the days when Easy Spirits were the fashionable domain of little old ladies. With a great designer on board, Easy Spirit shoes at last actually "Look like a pump, but feel like a sneaker." Price: $240
Manolo Blahnik Check d'Orsay
While checking out some shoes for the fall season, one of the things that was apparent almost immediately is that they're not all sky-high platforms. It's a nice change and, some might say, a bit more elegant than some of the chunkier shoes we saw this spring. Manolo Blahnik's Check d'Orsay pumps definitely match their description of "buckle on vamp," in black and white with patent leather trim, but are still pleasingly understated in their non-aggressive colors, which are more appropriate for fall/winter wear. The classy shoes, with 3 1/2-in. heels, are a good choice for dressing up some black trousers at work, but would look fantastic with a slinky skirt on a night out. If you want to get a jump on the trend and start wearing them now, just tell yourself that "pre-fall" is another word for summer. Price: $565.
Christian Louboutin Suede Cork-Heel Slings
Elegant without going over the top, these understated sling-back pumps from Christian Louboutin are a great piece
to add to your wardrobe before summer hits. The Suede
Cork-Heel Slings are a soft suede in a warm, earthy tobacco brown. The base and heel of the shoe, but not the soles,
are made of cork, which gives the pumps a natural, down-to-earth look but keeps them light on your feet. These pumps
don't have the same punch as, say, the black
Balenciaga platform pumps, but the sky high heels will still ensure that all eyes are on you - not just on your
shoes. Price
$670.
Cole Haan Noella Pump
Cole
Haan's Noella Pumps are one pair of sexy shoes. But, although very sexy, pair them with a more conservative outfit,
like a pair of jeans and a fitting white button up shirt, they look more fashionable than vampy. Made of genuine
crocodile or python, they are fully lined with kidskin leather and have a 3" heel. From what I hear, you must take
care of these shoes by conditioning them, if not the skin will start to peel away from the shoes. The original price was
$595, but they are currently on sale for $219.
A great buy!
