Lamborghini Yacht Concept by Mauro Lecchi

Lamborghini is no stranger to the water. In addition to producing some of the most desirable supercars ever to grace green tarmac, its marinized engines have hit blue water as well in offshore racing powerboats. But so far, the exotic Italian automaker has stopped short of designing its own yacht. Leave it, then, to a budding young designer to pick up the slack.

The brainchild of Italian transportation designer Mauro Lecchi, this Lamborghini yacht design borrows elements from iconic Lamborghini supercars and applies them to a 50-foot powerboat design. The theoretical specifications call for carbon-Kevlar construction to keep weight down, and a range of engine options from twin 700-horsepower Volvo Penta turbo-diesels to triple Lamborghini V12s.

ISA Yachts Launches Firouzeh

The last yacht I featured was another Ancona launch and also a bright white motor yacht, but there the similarities end. This yacht, Firouzeh, is the sixth yacht of the ISA 120 series from ISA yachts and was recently revealed. The 36-meter (118 feet) yacht is built for speed. Yesterday's 141-foot Emerald Star glides along at a cruising speed of 13 knots while Firouzeh prowls the water at a 30 knot cruising speed and maxes out at 36 knots. She is powered by three MTU 2000 hp engines with two lateral water jets and a central booster jet. The trade off for the sleek look is less open air deck space of the kind we saw on the Emerald Star. The interior was designed by the Cristiano Gatto Design Team and there seem to be some mockups on their website (look under 2007, ISA 120) that hint at a very modern style with dark furnishings, pale walls and innovative use of glass and wood.

Princess Yachts International has shipped the first of their new 95-foot flagship, the Princess 95 Motor Yacht. The new yacht has a deep V-hull design and a choice of engines up to 2400hp and the most advanced on-board systems. It can accommodate ten guests. There is a three cabin layout for the crew positioned aft with separate access from the starboard side deck. The interior is gorgeous, very contemporary and modern with neutral furnishings, light wood and large windows for enjoying the views. Check out full views at the Princess website photo gallery.
